1952-59 Ford Parting out 1955 Ford 2 Door Customline

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by Rockabillykat666, Aug 16, 2010.

  1. Hey all, We are moving to a new house soon and i am parting out my 55 ford. There's a bunch of stuff i'm keeping. Such as the windshield, dash board and front seat and window gl***.

The Car is Pretty rotted on the bottom as it sat for 15 years in a shed with wet leaves around it. the trim is in excellent shape. as is the trunk, the hood. the roof is excellent (like new), the frame is rusty but looks all right. the front cross member is rotted.

not sure about the engine but it's either a 272 or 292 y Block and the transmission is a 3 Speed. both a little rusty but i think the engine would kick over after messing around with it.

I'd really like to take what i need out of this car and sell the whole thing for $800

hey Johnny , what do you have left on that Customline you are parting out ? Why don't you just fix it up or is the frame bad ?

  6. Hey Jim long time no see.. the frame isnt too bad..i've seen worse..but the lower portion of the body is completely rotted away..except the doors..they are in great shape.i'm tempted to just swap the doors with Nicoles ranch wagon doors..so i don't have to mess with removing the gl***. The Trunk and Hood are in good shape. the Trim is 100% complete. i have all the sheet metal to rebuild the fenders including hard to find sheet metal. like i said i'll post some pics..maybe tomorrow..

Johnny , hows Nicole's wagon coming along ? You should use up the car doors and any other parts to fix her wagon up first . I might be interested in the trim . I am looking for some like the wagons have that went straight down the side of the car . That's what I want for my 55 you saw .
Mine is getting it's quarter fixed and the front fender on the drivers side . The last owners were real butchers with too much filler to use ! Hope to have it painted or in primmer with the new engine and trans for the Showdown in 2011 .

  8. we havent touched the wagon yet. the house we were trying to buy ended in a nightmare so we found a new place..5 acre farmhouse with a huge barn and inground pool.. we move in a month so i'd like to get rid of this car. i am going to swap the doors. tomorrow i'll take pics of the car and post them..it was my b-day this weekend and i was out and about the whole time..
