Here's a little tidbit I got in the mail today some of you might get a kick out of It's a video (albeit a bit dark) of the 8th grade genius p*** in the p/u. http://media.putfile.com/Hamb-Drags3 Enjoy,T.OUT
EASY FER YOU TO SAY... I STILL GOT 56K... NO WAY IM GOIN GET TO SEE IT... SOMEONE MAIL ME A PIC EARLIER AND IT WONT EVEN BEGIN TO DOWNLOAD... FRIGGIN STICKS.
obviously you're not familiar with the eighth grade genius' thrash-ability. what probably happened is, he fragged the input shaft, pulled the trans, fixed it and finished the run...he's that fast
For anyone who wasn't there, that was his first run... and that first run was his first time driving the truck. Mikey brought it down after a week or more of all nighters thrashing to get it finished. He and the other St. Joe boys worked on it all day to get it running and ready to race at MoKan. Can't tell too well from the angle of the video, but he never really hooked up and was headed for the rail. That's why he lifted for a bit.
I didn't know he'd already posted the videos here last night.I just recieved mine via E-Mail today and thougt I'd share. Oh well better late than never.LOL That's what they sound like when you're trying to use the scenic route to get down the 1320 without crashin'.The audio doesn't do it justice. T.OUT
The video really DOESNT show how scary that run was. He was damn near sideways lookin at the rail (maybe both of them) when he let off then got back into it.
For those who weren't there, here is a little background... 8th Grade thrashed on the car all weekend in the parking lot of the motel and in the pits. 8th Grade, Yo Baby and a few other guys beat the injection into submission and finally got it to run. The car had never run under it's own power untill the last few minutes of racing Saturday night. Yep, the first time the car had EVER moved on it's own was driving up to the stageing lane late Saturday night. With only a few minutes left in track time, 8th Grade staged then floorboarded the 6-71 blown, injected 700 horse skinny block. The car pulled the front wheels, but spun the tires HARD..never did hook no matter what gear he was in. At one point, (kinda hard to see in the video..) the car was completely sideways and across the center lane. As soon as it straightened out, 8th Grade hit it again. A breathtaking run to see in person. Totally insane..scared the hell out of everybody watching, except 8th Grade himself, who fortunately did not live up to his licence plate.... BRN2DIE Last I talked to 8th Grade, he has figured out how to launch the car a little better, but still has serious traction issues. The best part...he drives this thing...MECHANICAL injected 6-71 blown skinny block back and forth to work. Also did a few 300 mile road trips in Kansas City traffic. Purrs like a kitten. Check it ou tat the HAMB Drags 06. -Abone.
Yep, it purred and growled as it drove into the Greaserama. That truck if F-ing cool. <<With two Moon eyes in the double "O's". Ground pounder is the way to describe the sound and he drives the truck. Chris Nelson Kansas Oh yea, Fbone. I remembered the other day how grimlok met Brad and pulling lines on the deck lid on the couch while talking on the phone to you.
WHEN YOU GO THE "PUTFILE" TO VIEW THE LINK POSTED, SCROLL DOWN A LITTLE, AND CLICK ON THE OTHER RUN HE HAS POSTED. IT WAS SCARY TO WATCH FROM THE SIDELINES A LITTLE FARTHER DOWN THE TRACK AS HE SWEPT THE HEADLIGHTS BOTH WAYS. AWSOME RUN ! LATER! HI BOB!
