...so I climb into my 55 Ford Country Sedan yesterday, and the first thing I see is a hair-line crack running horizontally across the front p***enger-side door window gl***. Aaaaarrrggghh! How could this happen? The perfect original condition of all the gl*** in this car was one of my "bragging rights" after purchasing this car from a guy who had it in a barn for 20+ years. Could the summer heat in the garage have done it? I don't get it.
After I bought my 55 I had one of the side gl***es crack just setting out in the yard. It was pretty hot that day.
I contacted a local auto gl*** house. 200 bucks if they do it, 75 if I bring it in. Hey, nobody sees it when the window's rolled down.
You can get that flat gl*** cheaper on Ebay . Flat gl*** shouldn't cost that much . They are not hard to install , just take your time . I have done mine with no problems . it's also a good time to clean and lube or replace the rollers . Jim
I think we discussed this awhile back. I needed one door gl*** replaced in my hardtop. took the frame with the old cracked gl*** still in it to the local shop - $60. They offered to etch the FoMoCo logo into it but I didn't need it and didn't ask the price.
