Nice work. As a Fng old enough to be your grandfather I appluad you for having the cajonies to do things your way. Next opportunity you have thank your shop teacher; obviously he knows how to incorprate his students interests into a curriculum that will have a life long influence on what they do. Thats what its all about .

    Hey there,

We have spoke before on the OHC forum I believe. I did a double take when i saw the OHC in the back ground, then it hit me, i think i know who this is. Great choice of motor, i am envious tho that you have a 250 as all of mine are all 230's. You wouldnt happen to have an extra water pump pulley for a 250 would ya??

Man! I didnt think Id get this many comments. Thanks alot everyone. The frame will hopefully be a 41 1/2 ton. If I cant get ahold of that ill have to build my own I guess. I can get the suspension setup off of a 4? 1-ton for free, so that would be an alright start. Im not sure If I want to use a manual ****** or an auto, which would be easier to setup but not as fun to drive...The engine is the schools and all it was used for was so the students could name the parts and take tests on it. It has never been fired. Ive seen a few posts on building a bed from scratch. Id start with the inner skeleton and go from there on to skinning it. Plowboy: I might be able to get another winshield frame for you. let me know. Kruzer: I dont have any other spare parts for it except the exhaust manifold and maybe the bellhousing and clutch setup. Thats if I use an auto. Thank you all again for the words of encouragement, they are greatly appreciated. Nick

Well done young lad. Stay with it.

I went to HS in Yakima myself, in the late sixties. We all drove '55-'57 chevys then. Croozin for chicks and drag racing was about all we knew.

Glad to hear it's still going on there.

Which school are you at anyway?

  14. Very good! Sorry for your loss. My father p***ed away when I was 16. Leaves a large hole in your world. Most of us aren't worth much but if we can help, ask away. Any subject.

Awesome pic, I have the 66 Hotrod Mag that has the bright red OHC inline on the cover when it came out then. Its all chromed out and polished, so i based it as my inspiration for how the engine in my 53 looks.

Super nice start. I especially like your choice of powerplants., I had a OHC Sprint six in a Tempest for awhile and it surprised a few SBC's. Mine came with a 3sp but after driving it awhile I switched to a 4 speed and it made all the difference in the world. This should be a fun ride, keep us posted on the progress.

WOW! That's way cool. Nice work on the chop and I love the 6 banger motor. As I recall that OHC six could be pumped up nicely and will make plenty of power for a light rod. Keep the pictures coming and I'm wondering...how do the other students feel about your project? Most of the young fellas I know really aren't too interested in old tin. Kudos to you!
