Look What I just bought myself for Christmas, 32 inside

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tudor, Dec 17, 2005.

  1. Well my Dad has been sorta talking about this guy he knows picked up a 32 5 window body, but it rough and he doesn't know if he wants it or not. I figured yeah right - this will never work out. Somebody will jump on this guy and get it from him before my pops gets over there, so I never really thought about it.

My Pop went over there today and sent me these pictures and calls me.

We made a deal, I should have it in my garage next week. woo hoo. Wow - damn thanks Dad,

I told him, it is rough but it'll be damn good RAT ROD material!! Now I am going to have to take off the sedan body and see how this looks.

Damn. I guess a blind hog does root and acorn every once in a while.

Yeah you're right, it's rough. In fact, it's so rough you ought to not even mess with it and just send it down to me.:D

so where is the rough one your talking about?

  8. wow, yeah, the more I look at the pictures I can't wait to get it. I am still in shock.
I was kidding the guy about the rat rod part. He had a nice 58 vette in the garage. He said the whole deck lid is covered with about an inch of bondo. I said it'd be allright.

Thanks Dmarv, Rolf and Mad Lab.

if I told ya'll what I paid you'd really shit.

Well, you opened that door...now you have to tell us :D

  10. If you think that body is rough, you need to take a trip up here to the rust belt. That thing is cherry. Find one around here like that, you're looking at a couple grand, easy.

  11. Oh let me explain why I said it was "rough", the guys been telling my dad how rough it was for like two months. I was picturing in my head rusted to half the body line, no doors, dents, all surface rust etc. That thing looks killer to me.

Dad said the guy told him it had been a hemi car and it was a hot rod some 40 years ago.

Looks like they used rebar to reinforce the top filling. That's cool, I'll have to leave that for sure.

Rolf- Lets put it this way, it was such a good deal, my Dad said he would go ahead and get it for me for my birthday!! Damn what a day.

That is rough? Take a trip to wisconsin and see the MINT projects we start off with, have rust holes bigger then watermelons and we are excited as shit that they are still recognizable!!!

  27. you lucky MF!!!!!

  28. I'd give up two grand and my left nut for that....not the right...but I'd let the left go. I thought it was going to be some rusted up old beat body (which would still be nice). That's going to make a NICE car. Paint looks to be in good shape, nice shade too. You 'gonna leave it?

The picture of mine is actually in PA in 1965 or '66, maybe. I don't know where it went after I sold it.
