I just posted a intro on the main forum but I wanted to say Hi here as well. I just picked up a ratty 55 merc monterey. I have no plans on making it a show car just want to get it running good so I can daily drive it. I was in to vws for along time and muscle cars before that. I have had the itch to get an old ratrod of sorts for awhile and finally made that happen. Will be posting pics in thee next day or so.

Welcome! I'm a big fan of Monterey's, since they are so close in styling to the Victoria. Both cars were very, very popular back in my day. Be sure to post photos as soon as you can!

BTW , please don't take this wrong but here on the HAMB the ratrod work is a big no , no word to use . They will bash you on the main board when that word is used . Just a heads up . Jim
Welcome. I had a 55 Montclair when I was in the Air Force. It burned oil like crazy but it ran and ran and ran. My buddy used to take it to PA and go hunting with it like a Jeep. He took it home one time and it never came back, have no idea what ever happened to it but it was pretty as hell ..
