has anyone seen the looks like a off white sorry if wrong,52-54 thats chopped.different bumpers has anyone else seen the mag and have any pics of it and info.i apologize for not being able to post a picture of it here.
I just saw the issue, Im pretty sure this is the same car. Ive seen this car for years now at shows, i have some great photos of it in the early stages (about ten years ago). One of my all time favs
that car is the ****,is there anymore info on it,i would really like to see any other pics of this car, thanks
it is, this was the first car i had ever seen that layed out bumper to bumper (paso in 99 i think) i have a ton of pix of it, ill dig em out and post them
How did they get that front bumper so low? oh wait I see they sectioned the rocker panel, and probably did a body drop of some kind. interesting...
Sorry It took so long but heres some more photos of that car. This is at the moon eyes show in 99/00 (i think). ill dig some more photos out and post them if you need them.
Well I guess I am the only one that doesn't really think it looks all that great . OK so someone made it lay on the ground with bags . I am not that crazy over that look . I don't mind the chop but the paint really looks ****py unless it was the way the light hit the car . It looks like 2 different colors and the color really looks different on the door . I know it took a lot of time and money to make it lay on the ground but to me all that's good for is keeping the tires from being stolen ! OK I am open for anyone that want to give me a bunch of BS over this car but I am ready for it ! It just doesn't look that good for a car mag . I would hope there are more pictures to show me something but I don't get that mag . Just my opinion ! Jim
It might be interesting to see it completed with paint and a grill, looks like an unfinished project to me at this stage.
These pictures are pretty old. The car is now painted white with a 55 merc monterey bumper. I think it looks good
id like to see the finished pictures too. i take each car and judge it for what it is , weather its my style or not . it can be a gret car and do nothing for me . we had the pilsbury dough boy car into wark and i had to work on it . it was a black guys car with 28 inch wheels and tires. not my kinda car at all . but when you seen how much work , not to mention money went into this car i could apreciate it . the leather interior in that car was extremely nice. paint was perfect . i told the guy how nice a car it was even though it wasnt my kinda car. he kinda looked at me strange and said thanks.
I think that this car is featured in the Fall 2010 Rod & Kulture on page 72 in a small inset picture for the Beatnik Blowout. The lines of the chop look the same and it does look better with the gl*** in and the car actually one color. I'm not a fan of the bumper and grill combo but it is a nice Kustom with all the lines blending well. I would say that the car is well done in and in a subtle and tasteful manner. I actually like the car there are just small things that I would have done different but I have my own headache to work on these days so that everyone can make constructive criticism on my car.
Its not just bags that made that bumper sit so low. I have bags on mine, and when the car is laying frame the bumper and splash pan is still a good 6 inches off the ground. Edit.... I tried to post a pic of the front of mine, but as usual I am having problems with flickr. If you look at the most recent set of pics of this car, just before my last post you can see the plate is mounted to the bumper from the bottom side of the plate, and is only a couple inches of the ground. On mine, my plate is mounted to the bumper at the same spot on the bumper but from the top of the plate, causing it to hang lower, and it still has more clearance than that to the ground.
You can only channel a car so much. The rockers are sectioned, so thats a modest 3 inches, and it looks like the splash is still about 2-3 inches off the ground. So maybe its just the length of the rockers that its been channeled and the rockers removed. That chop is killer. Tudors are rough to chop, and make look right*, and in my opinion that car looks killer. I'm not a fan of rounded rear hood corners though (just a preference thing).
not only did he chop it,he also shaved the drip rails, shaved frenched, rounded all the corners, this is on its way to a great car
I like the rounded corners on the doors, not too sure about how the hood was accomplished. I like having the drip rails on mine. Some interesting stuff for sure. Can anyone scan the pics from the magazine article? I would like to see them, and didnt see the mag at local B&N.
I would just like to see the pictures somehow . I don't get that magazine . Is the car on the internet anyplace so we can all take a look at it ? Jim
