1956 ford. bought this last week and found out that it will be to hard to fix in a wheelchair. needs front crossmember under radiator where lower aframe bolts to. was a 4 door but someone bondoed back doors shut to make it kook like a crown vic. apears to have homemade tire kit.(not sure). y-block has been replaced with a later 400 cu in.ford..runs good. nice headliner, carpets.lots of good parts for a 56 year old car...please no e-mails.. not into playing silly games. if you don't know how to use a phone then you're too dumb to try and fix a car... i've already had 4 *****s e-mail in the 3 hours that the add has been on(wait can't call them *****s because *****s have a little bit of an IQ)... dumb people NO E-MAILS

    Hold me back!!!

Gees, to have just bought it a few days ago leaves me wondering who's really the - well I won't use the word '*****'- ? Perhaps 'vision-challenged' would be more appropriate. Oh and, for a "..56 year old car. ." wouldn't that make it a '54?

I guess it doesn't look all that bad for an amateur custom, and front Xmembers are a common problem with these cars. Was a price listed in the ad?

So I suppose you're gonna jump on this one before it gets away? I'll lend you my phone-remember NO e-mails. . .:D :D :D

I loved the part that the back doors were bondo'd shut, used to be a four door :)
Yeah he wants $1700. Funny thing is it was posted a couple months ago..I called the guy cause I thought well if its cheap I may use some parts, he wanted like $3500 for it. So I ***ume this guy bought it and is trying to resell??

  4. yeah that's a hard car to restore while in a wheelchair..maybe chevy's are more wheelchair friendly..so this guy wants $1700? i'd say jump on it. from the pics it looks pretty damn good considering what all was done to it. those doors seams can't be filled with bondo it would split and crack. if anything they are tack welded shut where is this car located?

That Xmember looks about like mine did before the restoration. I had it chained up just to keep the A-arms from dragging.

BTW, anybody been surfing CL lately? Tons of stuff for these '56s listed, and lots of it pretty cheap.

Holy Cow, I hope he didn't drive that thing home... Appears to be chains and strap metal holding that front end on.

I think we should flood HIM with e-mails just because... he's the DUMB *** for buying it without looking under it.

Damn , I though mine was bad when I bought it but this one beats mine to hell and back !
I really love the chain on the drivers side holding the front end up !

Well I just had to do it ! I went and sent him an email telling him I wasn't too dumb to fix the car but had to use an email because I couldn't talk ! :D
Anytime someone on C/L says no emails but leaves it so you can send an email , I always will and tell them the same story ! I have never had one that didn't reply and most say I am sorry and all that BS aand answer all the questions I send to them ! I just love to have some fun sometimes with ***holes like that !
Will let you all know what happens !

To be perfectly honest, I've bought cars far worse than this one because I fell in love with them and was sure I could save them. I call it the puppy dog syndrome. It is seldom fatal but can be excruciatingly expensive.

No problem with this one, though. Even I can't see the beauty within...

Heck my 55 is a fordor ! I hate climbing into the back and always did . I had many wagons too over the years !
Yea I have also bought POS worst than that too for way too much but when you see something you want , it's usually for a special reason from when we were all younger . I bought my 55 Ford fordor because it was a car that was in my family when I was very young along with my 2 shoebox Fords I have . It's just certain year Fords I love and I wish I had room for them all .
Anyway , Yes I am very bad when it comes to stupid ads like that especially on C/L ! Just never post the stupid things he posted about peoples emails and too stupid to work on the car and so on . When I see those ads , it just opens the door for me to have some internet fun with .
Heck there was an ad today for a Bike part and this idiot when and posted a picture of his bathroom and on the sink was a big "BONG" or dope pipe ! This dumba$$ posted it wrongly ! Yes I did email him and told him on many other words how stupid he was for posting drug pipes on the internet for everyone to see !

Hey , C/L is just a fun place to visit !

Now we get to see all the pics of that car ! What a piece of **** !
He even used the same dan stupid post that was on C/L !

1956 ford fairlane. a real rat rod. was a 4 door but someone bondoed the rear doors closed to make it look like crown vic. y block changed to a later 400 and transmission. installed bucket seats in front, rear seat still there . home made tire kit.. old mercury turnpike cruser fender skirts(installed with screws). haven't seen inside trunk(no key) but safe to say maybe some rust as there is some in the floors and lower fenders. needs frt crossmember (lower a frame broke loose). new carpet and headliner. gauges don't work. engine runs like a top. don't know brakes or driving because of aframe... Too much work for a person in a wheelchair. all gl*** good except left roll up in doors(plexigl***). not to bad for a 54 year old car. 60/40 car .looks good at 60mph and 40ft away.

If you think that ones bad , click onto the other auction he has going on too . This guy was a so called mechanic at one time and had a shop . This Jaguar was left there for repairs and then the shop closed . He has it on Ebay for sale BUT if he gets it running before he sells it , he won't sell it then ! He says it's very rare and only 300 where brought into the USA . Can you imagine how he was when you took your car to him to get it fixed ! How could someone like that have stayed in business repairing cars ? What a total jerk !

The way it reads, sounds like only the engine & ****** are listed. But - '78? With points?

Well if it's red maybe it's really a chevy. . . Kinda hard to tell from 40 feet at 60 mph, might haveta wait till the brakes fail again and it runs into the garage to confirm.

Quickly becoming an urban legend :p

Just remember , he was a MECHANIC with his own business !:eek::eek:

The car that" if he got it running he was going to keep it" was the other auction he had for another foreign car .

Anyway you look at it , this guy has sniffed way too much glue over all these years !

I cant believe the person even bought it to begin with..must have been his first buy. some one putting bondo to close the rear doors should say enough about some ones work!!..I had my arm broken off after I had the frame straighten and I just replaced the whole frame after that. To me its not even worth 500! I would have walked from that deal unless it was going to be another parts car!
