So im studying in my dorm at my desk and i look up for just a second to see this driving by. So i literally went running down the street to go see this thing before the show ended. Pretty Cool 53!
it was the first time i had ever seen another 53 hard top in person other than me. thought you guys would think it was at least kinda cool just cause it was a mild custom and not just rotted away like when the owner got it, but i guess not. sorry for posting it.
i think what they meant was there is no pic, the way the heading reads it makes one think there gona see a pic of it .
Yeah what I was thinking (there'd be a picture), that maybe you chased the car and perhaps snapped a pic with your phone-cam.
Soooooooooooo.........what does it look like and I am having a hard time seeing the 53 in the pic ! OH wait ..................there is NO PICTURE ! Jim
wait there is litterally no pictures?? haha sorry guys, i can see all 6 pictures that i posted. im confused. lol
They were in post #1 when I opened it last night, weird some of you couldn't see it.Nice ride! Interesting dash treatment, kind of a good match for a Country Squire,by the way what was under the hood?
Thats a nice car, but I'm not a fan of those flames. I do like the dash since I've never seen one painted like that in a Customline. I really like the way the guy painted the radiator front hump. Sorry I don't have one and I don't know what the actual name is for that thing. I would actually like to have one of those for my car, I think they're awesome. Anyway, good car to have a jog after. I'd also like to know whats under the hood since it looks like a flathead from the radiator hose, or a 350 since I only see one hose.
Yeah jeff that was under the hood. 54- the dash was actually made out of wood! haha sorry guys for the confusion earlier.
I woulda been running after it too! Not a huge fan of the dash treatment or the airbrushing under the hood, but the ride looks cl***y! Thanks for the pics!
Thats' incredible that the dash is actually wood. Someone is pretty good at whittling at a long. I think that dash would be more time and money than I'm interested in putting towards the dash at this point.
Ahha, after the first post I was really really confused! I can see pics now, and I'd chase after any old car that cruises past my room! I'm pretty sure its a SBF judging by the wire-looms in the front of the engine.
it was actually flat head in there with two two barrells. shoulda taken a picture of it, wasnt really thinkin. hah
It may not be real wood. There is a guy here in Reno that has a process of painting on a finish that looks like real wood. He can create any type of wood with any type of finish to it. It is very realistic. You have to get really close to it to notice it isnt wood.
Ok that's much better ! Very nice 53 and I like the way the dash turned out . I guess it either airbrushed or tach paper . I like flames on a car but nor too crazy about the way those are down the entire side of the car . Still looks very nice . Jim
where was this car at i live out side of reno nv and was at the beach party car show in sep and it was there i am building a 54(the rose) for my daughter so i talked to them about it for a long time and came up with a couple ideas for the rose
haha i do the same thing when i see a 54. Car looks good. Dash is kinda interesting not crazy about the flames, but great car none the less
