got the PS just about done last night. donn- i'm broke as well, its just that i bought most of the parts and pieces over a 7yr period and as far as speed of the build i only work at my job 3-4 days a week. i also have arthritis and if i sit around and watch the idiot box i stiffen up. i know you wern't looking for a story, just sharing. i've also found if i tackel one thing every time i go out to play, things tend to get done faster. i'm a list guy. fabman-the rear fenders are from a 47 ford. i found them next to a pile of rocking horse ****(very rare). LOL I was in the right place at the right time and a dude i know showed me the wescott fenders i had suggested he buy. i thought he asked because he didn't have any but he had these and considered them to far gone so he gave them to me.

donn- when they use a heart monitor they use stick on pads for the leads.over the course of a three day stay in the cardiac care unit and having multiple tests they get changed quite often. the square marks are the glue residue, after scrubing in the tub. i have three stents by my heart and thought one colasped. i'm good to go. good thing for canada's free health care system.

3 Days in the CCU? Were you having problems or just some kind of a check up? You must of had some problems in the past to have 3 stints in veins. Jeez, take care of your self 'cause I am looking forward to your visit in August.

Built a dolly for my cab and built one for my sleeper so I can move them around in the shop. I am going to try to get them in this week. Need to get the ch***is cleaned up to get it in there too.

I see on your engine you seem to have set it real low in the ch***is .......... how low did you go? I bought the tubular engine mount and am wondering if its going to be too high in the ch***is. Have the trans crossmember with a 6 inch drop as well. The engine is going to sit under the sleeper I hope.

no worries donn, my heart attacked me 6yrs ago and i had a little scare so my cardiologist wanted to do some tests. i'm alright thanks. my engine is mounted so the bottom of pan is one foot from the ground, the running boards are 8 1/2in. should be alright, i'm shooting for a nice riding truck. the driveshaft ended up being 15in. i'm getting close and have been caught by my wife sitting in it making engine sounds. i'll be there in aug donn so leave somthing for us to do. greg

since i'm supposed to take it easy for awhile, i took some pictures to show the height of things in relation to stance and running board mock up. the other pic shows the head and taillights i bought at the swap-meet also bought the steering wheel. the shifter, fan, and trans cooler i had. i'm sure glad i'm getting to use up this stuff. 16. I am dealing with a guy from Edmonton that saw my '69 Short Fleet for sale at the Red Deer swap meet. The black '48 COE is owned by his friend. Chevy Value van ch***is and a ***mins 6bt. Says it is awesome on the road, it's "a train"
He goes to Bakersfield to the races, so it may be seen there.[IMG]

  18. Hi,
It has been suggested that my first post, that had my name and location and what I am building wasn't enough introduction.
    so I will try again.
But then someone pointed me to the newbie section, so I have posted my introduction there .

I live in calgary , self emplyed auto/collectables restoration, custom paint, been in the industry 27 years. Got into old cars naturally,my father loved them and he had a '27 Chrysler, and a '52 Meteor. I presently have a '69 Chevy short fleet ,396,3 speed lever, and a '39 GMC COE that is slowly getting worked on. Plan is to build a pickup style truck. Although I have had some cars, and I really like cars,
I've always been a truck guy.
PEX,Sorry to use your build thread to clarify this, just trying to cover my tracks, don't want to get in more trouble here. : )
Can I be on the playground now?
