Does any one make a lowering kit consisting of the blocks that go between the lower A-Arm and the spring mounting plate. I know I can make these, but a friend of mine is looking for a ready made kit. Thanks

Night prowlers does, its an okay kit, not perfect but okay. I'm sporting them anyway, no real complaints other than fighting with them to put them on (not the blocks fault, just the nature of the job).

www.thenightprowlers.com It may not be listed, so you may need to throw a call their way.

You can get them fom hot rod and custom supply... I think they are in Florida... they are just alluminum blocks and bolts, you have to drill out the rivets on the bottom a arm and sping cup and put the blocks in... Its not to bad, all depends on how high you can get the car to drill and swing a mini sledge to get the rivets out.

I have seen them on ebay before but really , just go to a metal supply house and get some alum. block and just drill them out then use good grade 8 bolts to mount them . You can also use square tubing or solid steel block but make sure you paint them . There is really no special trick , just be careful and don't do anything stupid like getting up under the car with NO jack stands !
Hot rodders have been doing it this way for a very long time !
Of course you can always change the front springs or just cut them to lower the car . You can do any of the above ways to lower the front of your car !

I bought a set of the alum blocks on ebay and changed my mind about lowering my 55. I really can't remember what they cost though. Been sitting on a shelf for a year and a half.

I think the kits from ebay were around $119 plus shipping but may have been a little cheaper but not by much .

Yes , but think about how lazy most people are and haven't got the common since to just cut a piece of steel and drill some hole in it either ? That's why you see some of these kits and items people sell on line and you just shake your head and laugh ! That's why I said before to just make it yourself !

Hey can someone post a pic of what your talking about I'm confused... LOL. Not sure if I've seen them before. If I'm thinking about it right it will lower the spring mounting down thus lowering the car. Am I close?

yes, its a peice of 1 inch square tube or stock. that is bolted in between the springseat and the control arm. cut or drill out the original rivets . put the peice in place and bolt it back with grade 8 bolts. ive seen pics but dont remember where.

They are very easy to make . The hardest part is drilling the holes out if you use a solid piece . A drill press will make it a lot easier to drill . I have seen people use square tubing but that is a lot of pressure on those side wall .

Nice picture of your front end ! I see you replaced a lot of front end parts or the front end is super clean and painted . I also see someone loves those Cherry Bombs too !

Oh yea, I remember now. Yea those should be pretty easy to make. Should be able to get the front end nice and low with a pair of Aerostar springs and that setup pretty cheap.

Hey Old Lady, I looked at your album, I'm guessing the pic's of the car w/ the black steelies is the current ride height. Looks good. How much do you think the front end has dropped since you changed things?

I just found the receipt for my lowering blocks and they cost me 104.90 from Ebay. If anyone wants to try a set of them let me know as I am not lowering my 55. I'll let them go cheap.
