Yes, I bought every copy :D the collectable store near Rudy had, well all except one, which I left for Starliner to purchase. He was in the store the same time as us but didn't know about the issue being out till we told him. He bought the last one in that store.

I was asked not to post the other scanned images I have....at least that's what I think he was asking me NOT to do. I think R & C wants everyone to go buy their own issues. Can't say that I blame them I guess. In any event, all the features of all the Ego-Rama cars are great. Not every single fact is correct but I guess thats bound to happen. I think most folks know that my '47 was completely done and had been on the road for years when it burned in the shop, not that it "was close to being finished when it was destroyed". I'm thrilled that they mentioned the HAMB thrash on Big Olds and Rudy and Mikes name in the article. Gotta give credit where credit is due for sure.

You guys have really got to get it just for the Ego-Rama coverage alone. The first couple of pages with the very cool group shots are worth the purchase price. Perhaps once the mag is out everywhere the powers that be will allow someone, or me, to post the scanned pages.

You got that right. After we picked up all the copies and hung out at the store and chatted with some cars buds that were there, Roadstar and I headed over to our very favorite Italian resturant and celebrated big time. Had a very nice, fancy dinner. It certainly was a special weekend.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I'm very proud to have R & C chose Big Olds as a feature but even prouder to be one of the seven contestants in the Ego-Rama coverage AND I have all my HAMB buds to thank for that! So THANKS to you guys for all the votes, which to me means you had confidence in Big Olds's ability to get the job done. Big Olds winning 2 1/2 out of the 9 catorgies is something that I'll be proud of for a very long time and I owe it all to you guys. xoxoxo

No sweat bud BUT you can edit it and no one will ever know.;)

You know, for the last couple of months I've been wondering which HAMB bud would be the first to get this issue and post it. You were the one!:D I certainly won't hold one wrong letter agaist you.

Of course. You'll see cookies in June, if not before:D

That was a fun day wasn't it. :D Nothing better then spending hours cruzn around a fairgrounds of a car event topless checking eveerything out.

You will have to see/taste for yourself in March at the Detroit Autorama:D

While getting together with you guys sounds wonderful, I really need to spend the next couple of months concentrating on Big Olds and getting him ready to drive down to TX in March. Feel free to come up here though. There is always cookies in the cookie jar for guests.:D

congrats, sweety. all that fun and notoriety (i mean fame), too. it's nice when good things happen to good folks.

i know your dance card is pretty full already, but you should consider making the trek to dewey, oklahoma the first weekend in may for the stray kat 500. mick puts on a really cool show. the old saying "a great time was had by all" is appropriate when you leave town after it's over.

i'm looking forward to getting my copy in the mail, but like someone above said, i've gotta wait for the mailman to get finished with it first.

jim, the mag really is better now than it was for several years.

  15. Congrats Denise. Now don't let your head get so big that you can't ge in the kitchen and make those cookies.

    Denise -

Just a note to add my congrats! A pretty cool Christmas present, eh?!

I'm sure everyone here agrees the HAMB couldn't have a better - or more appropriate ambassador.

  18. She is, after all, the Official HAMBassador. :D

Congrats Denise. There is not a more deserving HAMBer.

Congratulations on the article, I know a lot of energy, time and patience by you and effort by many is behind that. This is a great motivator for me, I hope my '48 will someday be half as nice as "Big Olds".

    "Almost done"??????

That car's got more miles on it than probably all of the cars featured in the last year or two combined. What's it take to get one "done"? Billit cigarette lighter knob? Chromed muffler bearings? :D

It's been done a long time, it's just getting a tummy tuck, face lift, and a little makeup now.

Denise, Let me add my congrats to all the others. I second what Mike said about coming to Dewey in '06. It's a good time and Big Olds would steal the show for sure. So heres a big ol' Oklahoma "ATTA GIRL!!!" from GV.

Ya know, Dewey is NOT outta the question. I'll fill you guys in on alittle secret. FatLucky, myself and South Austin Speed Shop are working out the details for Big Olds's interior to be done there. If thats the case, then I would drive Big Olds down for the RoundUp and leave him there then come back and pick him up and drive him home. PERHAPS I could arrange it where I pick Big Olds up a couple of days before Dewey and make Dewey a stop on the way back to Detroit!:D
