I know the subject of heater cores has come up before, but not related to this question...
I have the original heater core in my 55 Country Sedan. All hoses are connected with no detectable leaks, but cannot feel any heat coming out. (Amazingly, the blower still works.) Am I missing something?

  2. Run the vehicle up to operating temp with the heater turned on , then put your hand on both heater hoses at the firewall - they should both be quite warm to hold onto. Depending on the type of heater control set up your car has there may be a tap on the engine that shuts off the hot water flow.
post up a pic of under the hood.

Or the core itself could be clogged not allowing coolant flow through the heater.

If you have a V-8 make sure the vac*** line is hooked up to the valve on the front of the intake.

You can very carefully shoot some air into one side of the heater core to see it there is any blockage . Just don't hit it with a lot of pressure . Just a small amount of air will do . That I would do if both of the heater lines are not hot ! Are you using a heater control vale also ?
