Some **** stole my ebay account and my email p***word, luckily i was on ebay when it happened and i was on it enough to get to my paypal and bank info before they did. I might start changing my p***words regularly Just thought i'd let you all know, i know so many of you use ebay. L
Did you get ****ed in on the Million dollar rat rod sign in page scam ? Was your p***word the same for all your stuff ?
Do NOT answer any e-mails from E-bay, especially ones that ask about Pay Pal or any account information. E-bay will send a PM to your personal account page if they have any account concerns and they use your personal account page for all of their communication. If you e-mail them they will tell you this..ALL e-mail questions that come VIA the internet e-mail are fraudulant.
I've been forwarding all my PayPal e-mails to 's****@ebay.com' and (to no surprise) they've all been phish of s**** or whatever you call them.
JUST FOUND OUT HOW THEY ARE DOING IT Scammers have imbedded ebay with bogus auctions. When you click on them they prompt you to login to ebay. The LOGIN SCREEN IS BOGUS!!! Look up at the address line, and its something like "signinebaycomwsisapi.blogsite.org" WATCH OUT WHEN YOU LOG IN!!!!! MAKE SURE YOU ARE ACTUALLY LOGGING INTO EBAY, and not some ghosted site that looks just like eBay!!!!
I was on Ebay and i had some auctions ending, i saw that 2 new listings had been added on my account, i clicked on 'my selling' page and it asked me to sign in, when i tried it to sign it it said the p***word was invalid. I went to my yahoo email and that was ****ed too. Long story short, i closed my paypal, changed my bank info and got hold of ebay, i am still waiting on yahoo. If i wasn't online at the time i would have got totally screwed. I NEVER answer the spam emails, i just delete them. I'm amazed i got my ebay account back and that they didn't get to the little money that i have. Be careful out there, some **** right now is trying to break in to someones account L
This happened to me about a year ago, and learned a few things: 1. Use 1 credit card ONLY for internet buying/selling, to quickly stop the charges. 2. Don't use names, words, birthdates, phone #s, etc. for p***words. Hackers have developed programs which can attempt your p***word using every word in the dictionary, and it only runs in seconds ! eBay should be able to detect this, but most apps don't bother checking for number of failed attempts (stupid, stupid programmers; lots of them out there). Use an odd mix of upper-case, lower-case, numbers, and special characters. It's ok to write it down next to your computer; if they're in your house, You got MUCH BIGGER PROBLEMS ! 3. Spyware - I use one, but it was out of date. Keep that ****er up to date 4. Firewall - again I used one but it was out of date. 5. Don't let friends use your computer, esp. if they want to read their e-mail. 6. Use a MAC !!!!
Another reason your Ebay p***word, and your Paypal p***words should be different. Ideally,ALL your p***words would be different, but who can remember all that **** ?
One thing you could do is use a p***word with numbers, and each time you use it change the number by one - like, if it has a 48 in it the next place make it 49 or 47. Or hit the shift key for one or both numbers. That way each one is different, but easy to remember.
