check the seat out of about a 97 taurus . the have an arm rest that folds down and a flip up out of the seat that make a cup holder. and comfy . mine has one out of a little thunerbird i think or thts what it looks like to me . it was in there when i got the car . and the top of the back set is from the same car. fits perfect.

I had a couple Taurus and they are really nice plus they are electric seats too !
You need to measure how wide your bench seat it and start hunting . You might be able to find something on the internet as well so you won't have to spend hours looking in the salvage yards .
Just keep in mind if you have a stick shift or a column shifter .

Im on the same boat. I went to the salvage yard and found a 62' 2 door falcon with the same style split bench seat that is in way better condition than mine. Im going to go back this weekend to double check the width on that seat but im almost positive that it will work.

Here is my .02 I used a spilt seat from a Mercury Sable in my 54 coupe. a sable is a 4 dr so the seats did not swing to access the rear seat area so I installed from a t-bird bucket seat the recliner mechanism. The seats are power and with little work to mount to floor they worked out great! Big plus was they were 14.50 each at pick-n-pull.:) Buick Regal,Olds Cutl***,El Camino, would have also worked.

I ended up using a '64 Galaxy 500 seat in mine. The fit was pretty darn good and the price was right also at $10.

I used a 60/40 split seat from a full sized 84 Olds in my 53. Its electric and very comfortable. Its been in my car for about 25 years. Just measure the width of the old seat and start looking for something you really like.

That's why I love a salvage yard ! You can look and look till you see something that you can use . It's like a big shopping mall with all the different stores offering their different good ! I usually look around to see if something might just work in my car or not . Then I take a picture and measurements and see what happens when I get home .
I always carry a camera , tape measure , pad , pen & pencil , in case one stop working .
Well cold or not , I might just have to take a ride in another week to go salvage shopping ! It's a shame the salvage yards to sell gift certificates ! That would be a great stocking stuffer , right !

I agree with you on this one as well . That was kind of one of the kool factors back in the day . To have a decent hotrod with a bunch of power under the hood with your laddie stuck right nest to me . When I had my 4 speed car , she would shift for me . She got damn good at it after a while till we were grabbing gears and you could hear the tires chirp too !
That's why I still have a ****py bench seat in my 55 Ford . That's for my wife to slide over next to me when she wanted to snuggle up while driving down the road . Yea , those were some of the best times I can remember beside street racing !
