I was looking for a fender panel and ran across this guy that has a ton of different panels for our rides, says they were made back in the 50's in the good ol' US. Anyway I can get a fender panel shipped to the door cheaper than EMS (without shipping) so I am gonna get one and see how it works out. http://myworld.ebay.com/scopan23/
Let us know how they are, while I am all about making my own panels, sometimes the time involved just doesnt make it worthwhile to do so, especially if you are trying to make some sort of profit off of it!
Will do. Some of yall are good enough to do that stuff, but not me yet. I need this panel, and I dont see how people can make that, with the lips and all. but I know it can be done, I have a friend thats capable (but not always willing) . But for $60 I think I will buy this one. Maybe one day I will posses those skills! Like an idgit, I lowered my car down the other day right on the jack stand and tore the bottom of this panel up. Oh well, it had some rust in it anyways
Is that the guy on Ebay ? I think it's called "Schott Panels" ? If that is him , I got that front fender bottom and it's ok but where they cut the top of the bottom patch panel , it looks straight but be careful it's very jagged and they didn't clean the cut edge off ! Other than that , I would buy another one from them . I got that and a quarter piece and made the deal off line . Gave me a better price than on Ebay too ! Jim
I thinks thats same guy Jim. He had his email address on the ad so I emailed him and was doing the same thing, trying to work a better deal offline. Havent heard back yet though. The EMS piece shown above is only like $10 more if it was thought to be a better piece, may be worth it.
He goes by the name--scopan23 ---on Ebay . His prices are cheap and the metal is good and heavy . I am going to buy some other sheet metal from him for my 50 Ford . He also has some friends he gets different pieces from so if you don't see what you want just ask him and he will check around for you to see if he can come up with what you need . He did good by me and the parts were fine but they are not EMS quality by close enough for me when the are 1/2 the price . The only difference I see between the 2 companies is that the lines just aren't as crisp as the factory cars have . Other than that they are decent panels . Jim
Thats him. The one posted above is an EMS panel, this is the one scopan has Scopan on ebay is $52.50 + $10 ship EMS is $69 plus shipping EMS does look like a better based on the pics
You guys can do what you want, but in my humble...but very experienced...opinion, pay the money for the best panels you can find, regardless of the cost. Trying to fit, install and blend a poorly-shaped panel will make you crazy...and look like s**t to a practiced eye when you're done. Again, do what you want, but don't come crying to me when it doesn't go smoothly or turn out quite like you expected.
well thats just it, he is looking for good quality, And he found a place that had what he wanted for less. edit.... just saw the pics, that EMS one will be way better in the long run off the two!
I got that piece and you can see on the top where it was cut the **** that's there . NO big deals anyway there ! The rest is OK too . I still think the EMS is the best value for the money . You do pay a lot more but the parts are much nicer ! The parts always fit very nicely , the parts are thick , heavy and straight plus they are made IN THE USA !!!!!!. I have always used EMS but figured I would give the guy a try . The parts are OK and fit and the metal is 18ga. But in someplace's it really doesn't have to look perfect when it's hidden but when you need good straight lines , buy EMS ! This is just my opinion since I have bought from both vendor's ! Jim
