Hey guys, on my '56 Ranch Wagon the doors are in really bad shape and I am planning on replacing them, but the fit currently is bad. They fit extreamly tight at the forward upper area at the windshield and they flare out at the diaginal corner(lower bottom). Its almost like the body is sagging in the middle like a sway back horse. Is that possible, for the body to be sagging in the middle? The roofline is fine, no ripples or creases. Thanks, Joe-Racer
OK , are your floors rusted out bad ? I bet you rockers are rusted out too . The rockers are the main piece that goes along the bottom under the posts from the doors . If that is rusted out bad like most all of them , then that is why you are sagging . Also check all you floor supports that tie into from the rockers to the center of the car . If this is all bad or rusted badly you will need to fix the problem first . Now if this is bad DON"T go crazy with a saw-saw and start hacking away to remove all of it . You will need to brace the car up so everything is in line so when you remove the bad , the good will stay all lined up good so you can start welding everything back together . I am ***uming your frame is good , right ? So look everything over and tell us what all is rusted out and what needs to be replaced . Then we can tell you what to do first and then things will go back together well and your wagon will be strong and support all the weight of a wagon and things will line up well for you ! Also if you can take some pictures that will be very helpful too ! Now if you have a lot of pictures you can start an album or post them on Photo Bucket and post a link here . Jim
I have pictures posted in an album, just visit my about me page. If there is a specific area that I didn't get let me know and I will add them. Thanks for all the help!! Joe-racer
