couple pics of the 55 I picked up...

    Im around Houston Tx.

This is a project between my mom and me...the current drivetrain works but I like mustang engines so going to swap out the 272...thinking of doing front disc...A/C....56 Dash...5.0/AOD...9" rear....etc...

    So I will have the 272 Y block engine ****** for sale RUNNING(600)...the 8" eventually(125)...and the 55 dash if anyone knows(100)

Im sure I will be having alot of threads asking questions if I dont find a previous thread.

welcome to the group, project for you and your mom, thats cool i like that. 5.0/aod popular easy swap. tou can buy regular direct bolt in mounts right from your local parts store. realy everything you want to do are good easy upgrade's and makees for a nice driving car. power disk brakes are so nice to have in todays trafic.

lots of good info here and knowledge.

    thanks,
my mom bought the car while I was selling my 93 Gt mustang and so im tearing it apart to start doing things to it to get it more modern/ easier to work on and replace the parts that are just so old. I cant do everything myself so will have to farm out some stuff..

  7. Good luck selling the Y-Block. I can't even get anyone to come pick up this C2AE 292 I've got taking up space. Been listed on CL for FREE and still no bites. Have a friend that said he'd take it, but hasn't come to pick it up. Getting tired of looking at it.

Just some information on the 8" rear in the 55 Ford is not the same 8" rear in a Mustang ! It's a 8" Dana rear ! Thought you would like to know they are different .

I have a sister that lives outside Dallas . She loves it down there but too damn hot for me !

I will say the body on the car looks pretty solid which is always nice to start with !

Yeah plan on only needing cosmetic body paint needing to be done...nothing looks rusted underneath....Havent scoped out engine crossmember area yet...but 95% underneath looks perfect...or just dirty..
