    I saw this on the Phoenix craigslist,I tried to type in the link but could not get it to work:mad::mad: Anyway if you put 1953 Mercury in search you will find it,a 1953 Merc 2 door hardtop $1850 nice AZ body with white tuck & roll see pics,looks really straight.:cool:

    Here in PA. it would cost me almost $1800 just to have the seats recovered, that car is a bargain.

    Damn that is one hell of a good deal ! That same car in Pa would cost $3000 or better .

    Jim,as soon as my rich uncle gets out of the poorhouse or I recieve a new Obama stimulus package.LOL! I hope it finds a new home they don't show up like that often an AZ car is usually not going to be a rust bucket either.

    Would the body drop onto a 54 frame without to much h***le?

    So long as its a hardtop or a droptop frame, it should bolt up. Though, without a ford manual, I don't want to confirm this.

    Though, swapping frames is a big h***le, regardless of job.

    Sweet deal anyway! if it were closer!

    Why would you want to drop a mercury body on a ford frame?
    I read somewhere that the merc is longer, so the ford frame might might need to be stretched. Dont quote me on this though.

    Well, I'm not sure if its longer between merc and ford, I know it is later, but He could have been referring to a '54 merc frame anyway, which would net you a modern front end, opposed to the archaic king pin set-up that ford still was using on ford and mercury.
