Yall seen this? Cant find much more about it, not sure if its done yet or not

This is Tim Allen's new Triple Nickel Customline '55 'Ford. Under the hood, a Ford GT V-8 engine.

-- Tim Allen's "Triple Nickel" 1955 Ford Customline is taking shape. This car for Allen (who is best known for his role in the 1991-1999 television show, Home Improvement, as Tim "The Toolman) Taylor) will have a V-8 engine from Ford's supercar, the Ford GT. ("They did one extra for us," said Michael. "When you have a celebrity client, you can get special things done.") Like, getting that engine when only 4,038 Ford GTs were ever built. It will have 600-850 horsepower depending on the setup. The car will also include an Art Morrison ch***is with independent front suspension and a '55 T-Bird themed interior and a T-Bird air scoop on the hood.

Some interesting stuff here for sure. I want to see the hood scoop thing myself, as I was contemplating that for my car.

Alot of time and work went into that car, thats for sure. Not my cup of tea as for the engine into a traditional, but great work none the less. Cant wait 4 the finished product.

Tim Allen is a HUGH gear head from way back . I have seen him on the Barrett-Jackson many times buying and selling his cars that are all high HP big engine cars .
Yes I am very glad to see a Ford in the spot light for once ! Really tired of the same old , same old orange engine Chev all the time .

I am also wondering about a hood scoop too . I have a 55 Fairlane fordor and wanted to do a hood scoop but can't figure out which way to go with one . I have some I am very partial too , like the tear-drop but just won't cut it on a 55 hood I don't think . The smaller old style plain scoop are OK but not for a 55 hood .
If someone has an idea for a hood scoop for a 55 hood please send it my way and let me know what you are thinking !

Jim, scaling up a 55 t-bird scoop a little bit to fit might do it . I think staying within the Ford style would be good.

One of the things that I really like is the fit of the rear bumper... nice and tight against the rear pan.

That was the scoop I was thinking of . The ones that look about that size but more rounded and flat on the top .

the way he has his bumpers , he stole my idea ! I am doing the same to my 55 but not that close but will be very close to what he is doing . That bumper has also been cut and made shorter also because it's very close to the sides where the bumper curls around . I am just pushing mine up till it hits the bottom of the rear pan . I am not going to make the curves exactly like the bottom of the trunk but a stock bumper pushed close still looks good . I am doing the same with my front bumper as well ! I think I have a pictures of my idea someplace that I took back in July or August when I started fixing all the screw ups from the last owners 1/2 *** mud work !
I am also thinking about welding the headlight covers to the fender and making it look like one piece too . Just trying to figure out how to replace the head light when it burns out . I have to remove the bulb from the inside of the fender some how . Unless I can hind a curved cl*** like a head lamp and make a housing behind the gl*** to install a halogen build to remove and replace them like a new car does .
Any ideas would really be helpful if someone has a good ides on a plastic or metal housing to use .

Oh well back to the drawing board in by already way too full head !

That's a very nice a suddle hood scoop . I LOVE the color as well . That is really a beautiful 56 Ford . That is about the same way I am doing mine . All the door handles , locks , logos are gone with a nice stock grill and that straight trim that I am looking for . That is pretty much my car except mine is a fordor .
the scoop looks perfect ! Those headlights turned out great ! The hubcaps is the ONLY thi ng I really don't care for but that's it .

It's making me really jealous right now but it also is the picture of how I would like mine to turn out .
Thanks a ton for the picture ! It does help to see one that you would like your's to kind of look like . Mine is a 55 but will have the 56 dash in it !

I just got done drooling , I mean looking at all the cars / trucks / wagons he has owned . Dave surely has some very good taste in cars to say the least !
Still not to sure about the hood scoop . I wish I had one to set on the hood so I could see what different ones looked like . I guess I really wish I had the Photo Shop to change everything around to see what it would look like . Right now we are getting another little snow storm 2"-4" but it's holding me up to finish getting the last elbow and 2' of stove pipe and attack to the garage so I can start burning wood to get some heat so I can work on my car ! I just might take my car and put the bottom of the latter against the car so it won't kick so I can get the chimney done ! I sold the engine in my 55 and it needs to come out this week or next week .

Again thanks for the picture with the hood scoop . Maybe just go with out one and leave the car in primer so I can ad a scoop later if I want one . I am just looking for something a little different so it doesn't look like everyone else's car !
