Hi, I posted on the main HAMB board and JeffB2 kindly pointed me toward this group and sent me an invite. I have a 56 Mainline, been collecting parts for about 7 years and it's time to start actually working on the car. Looks like it was originally a 6cyl/3spd and someone put a 302 and C-4 in along the way. Pulled the 302, had it stroked to a 347 and it's sitting in the garage bagged up. Picked up a T5 a week ago that has been converted to S10 tailshaft, which moves the shifter forward a few inches to help clear the bench seat. Have a Lincoln Versailles disc brake rear end complete with 2.5 gears, going to swap those out for 3.5's. Suspension-wise it will be mostly stock with new springs, bushings, etc. I am going to convert it to 4 wheel discs with 3" dropped spindles with a kit I picked up a while ago. Power rack and pinion steering is also going to be installed from another kit I got a while ago. So, a lot of work to be done, don't even get me started on rust repairs that need to be done. One day it will all come together though.
Welcome to the HAMB and our little piece of it from San Diego. Jesus seven years you are a patient person. I thought my two months of patience was tough. Have fun with the build it's a wonderfully frustrating time. This place will be a great help to you I'm sure.
Welcome from Texas, at least my little corner of it. Sounds like you've got a great project going. Be sure to post some photos!
Welcome aboard. Glad to see another Mainline! I have a 56 Mainline Tudor also. I have a 347 stroker and TKO 5 spd in mine. Good times. She is at the paint/body shop right now so I just have to sit and wait
