    Hello fellow Ford lovers!
I am new to the HAMB and resently relocated to San Diego.

It's cool to see the Ford photos on the site.

I have a fresh 302 with a rear sump pan that I am getting ready to install. Before i get to deep I have questions to anyone with the williness to steer me in the wright direction.

    1. Has anyone installed a 302 with the Jamco engine mount kit in there 53?
    2. Pro and Cons to the 302 swap?
    3. Radiator Clearance?
    4. Automatic Shifter Linkage vs. Headers?
    5. Gas peddel to throttel linkage for a Holly Carb?

    Sincerely
    Rob G.

Mounts from www.speedwaymotors.com will save you around $50 over Jamco, check the main board for Complaints on Jamco and also Google, a member has a pictorial here of the swap and the mounts.,Radiator clearance,If your 302 is 1980 or later it has the long water pump and 50oz balancer, click on this link: www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303600 scroll down to #5.The balancer mentioned(part# 91015365) these have both 3 and 4 bolt patterns for the pulleys and is available in 28 or 50oz balance and is short like the early balancers the early water pump is part#91015544.If you run a C4 or AOD Hedman header #88420 will fit.The easiest to install for gas pedals and TV cable(AOD) or kickdown(C4) ia LOKAR cable and bracket, for an oil pan you will want a Fox body dual sump to work with the '53 crossmember. You can use your stock transmission crossmember with a Energy Suspension trans mount #4-1104G,if you trial fit the engine and transmiision as a unit do a loose fit on the transmount then you will be able to mark the position where the engine mounts will go.

Rob Graham,go to page 5 and look for this post by mr. h "53 rebuild" there are some good pics of the mounts, you may have an easier time of it as someone had put a Chevy in his and chopped up the frame a little also you will need the short oil filter,pm him for the part number.

Sounds to be a rough one in you neck of the woods. Rained here Friday and Sat. in the 40 to upper 50. What motor are you running in your 53?
