    Hi all,
Raceron1120 suggested I join this group.
I have a '55 Merc wagon that is under construction. So far it has been converted to a true 2-door car, and the top is in the process of being chopped 3" total.
    Pics here:

Right now I am now looking at ****** possibilities to back the 292 that is going in. From the pricing I have seen for adaptors, it looks like I will be going stock.

    Thanks!
    Glenn

Hey Glenn I see you found "us". Welcome to the Group. Seems like there were some discussions awhile back about transmissions.

Does someone - anyone - remember talking about them?

    Ron.

welcome from illinois. i dont think you will find the flat side gl*** to be all that expensive. but the money saved there will help offset the price for new tailgate gl***.

Welcome from BC .....Replacing the side gl*** is not too bad- It is only flat gl*** that can be cut. I replaced all the gl*** except the liftgate gl*** in my wagon. I was lucky enough to have the old gl*** for a template though....that will be the tricky part. I also did not replace the rear door quarter window gl*** because I could not find anyone that made the rubber for it. If you have already turned it into a 2 dr then you don't have to worry about them.

I'm not certain if they are sedan or hard top.
They are about 6" wider than the more-door stock front doors.

Yes, it is a solid wagon now because I replaced allmost all of the floor and both the inner and outer rockers.:

All that remains to do on the floors is to repair the spare tire well:
