does anyone know of a heavier front sway bar that might be a readily available replacement for the stock skinny one that is on the sedans and converts? I know the wagon sway bar is heavier, but we don't have an extra one. I have a friend looking for one for a convertible.

the mid 80 t-bird is sposed to be a direct bolt on. thats on my list of things to get and do. when you go junkin, get the frame mount brakets with the bar. naturaly they are diffrent then your cars mounts.

I recently bought a 1 inch front sway bar from Dave at daverace@sbcglobal.net
We put it in my 54 Sunliner today, it fit perfect and could not have been easier to install! Jacked up the front and took the old one off and installed the new one in 1/2 hour. It was raining and my top is down so we did not yet test drive it but I am excited to give it a try! It cost $170 plus shipping.

I've heard about this T-Bird sway bar working on our cars but I have yet to hear anyone confirm this. Has anybody actually done this?

Got a chance to test drive with the new 1 inch sway bar, wow what a difference it made. Makes you wonder why Ford did not go bigger originally. It drives almost like a modern car. I may add one to the rear. Ford was way ahead at the time, my 56 Chevy did not have a sway bar until I put one in it when it was 50 yrs old.
