Well I'm new to the group but have ad a 56 Ford for 22 years. My 56 Customline was my first car started on it when I was 15 and still working on it little by little. I've grown up in a car family. My Father has a 50 Merc and several several uncles and cousins all have cars. I was always a 50's custom nut wanted something long and low. Also always wanted a 5window coupe haven't gotten that yet though. I bought the Ford from a guy that had bought it from the original owner to fix it up. He never started parked it in a cement floored barn till he got divorced and had to sell it. It was a little rough when we went to look at it but it started and had original 39,000 miles. I also got a parts car about the same time that had a 292 and automatic. I was going to transplant the motor and was looking for dual carb set up for the V8 and found the dual carbs and split exhaust for the 6. Decided everyone has a V8 so went with the 6 sold the 8 and ****** for more parts and the rest was history. A Wife, 2-kids, a dog, and cat We try to hit the road when we can and every ounce in a while I get to do somehting to the car. Next will be a 3spd with OD out of a 54 with a vintage hurst floor shifter with the adapter made for this tran.

Thanks. Yeah Always loved the mercury lights didn't think I would ever be lucky enough to find or afford a nice set. My Dad did some trading with a guy when we found these. There were 2 full sets in a box I took the best of both for this set and sold the dented and cracked one sight unseen to a guy at a show for $500.00 bucks made out pretty good and got my set. Havent' found a set as nice since then.
