My neighbors were complaining.....

I've noticed the guys that bitch about what's in your back yard usually have a boat or motorhome parked in their front yard next to the driveway. Funny that doesn't bother them. Around here you can have a vehicle parked for years and nobody cares. But let a tire go flat for a week and they'll have the city all over you to remove the abandoned vehicle. keep the tires up and the hood down so they don't see the empty engine compartment and they'll ususally ignore it. The other trick I learned is to see what the cops who live in your neighborhood have laying around in their yards.

we've got neighbors like that over here, real punk asses! i cant even start my car without them calling the cops. i started arguing with the guy next door about how loud my car was, he grabbed me by the arm (with a death grip!) and said "i can handle myself for an old man!" when the cops came out later they told me it would be a felony to hit him because he's over 65

Yeah, the town I live in is a little "pricey" but I'm in one of the smaller places around. My back yard is fairly well hid by a fence one one side, a fence around the back and a grape arbor on the other side. You have to REALLY wanna see in my back yard to catch a glimps of anything.

The funny thing is, you guys are right. The guy complaining can't see it without major effort and has 2 old snowmobiles rotting into the ground next to his garage!!! Now, to be fair, he was more annoyed than mad, but still pissed me off. I think it's more a case of the fact that he hates that guys are stopping over all summer long on the Harleys or in the hot rods. I think he's jealous.

He mentioned one time last year that it's illegal for anyone (meaning me) to work out of their garages. I just smiled and said..."Really, I didn't know that, thanks."

This is an open invitation to any and all HAMB memebrs to stop by next year!! I'm about 40 miles NW of Chicago and home most of the time. Just drop me a line and stop by. If enough guys are interested, we'll make it a HAMB party!!!

The moral to the story here is if you have to keep something outside, keep plates on it. Most places can't touch you if you have it registered.
