There's only one Marvel Mystery Oil. You can buy it at Wal-Mart. It's used for all sorts of things.

One of the most popular applications is to soak engines that have not run for a while, to loosen the pistons in the bore and to loosen the valves in the guides.

Many people, me included, use it as a regular additive in the engine oil to help keep the engine clean inside. It's got higher detergency than regular oil and really helps keep the motor squeeky clean. Crud stays suspended in the oil, then is flushed out when the oil is changed rather than sticking to the internals of the engine.

    Works great!

That NAPA link isn't the usual Marvel you see,it is more commonly found in a red 16 oz bottle Wal-Mart and other places sell it that way, just saw it yesterday at Family Dollar store for $2.99.One additive I miss that is no longer available retail is Wynn's Friction Proofing,I was sold on that for years and had several uses for it.

I actually went to Autozone and picked some up yesterday. I did get the red 16oz bottle after reading the entire label and determining it was what you guys were talking about.
I also figured out the proper torque for the valve cover bolts at 132in lbs which sounded better than 10ft lbs. I used the 132in lbs when i put on the valve covers last night. Thanks for the help with everything so far. I'm sure the questions have just begun and more will come.

132 inch pounds is 11 foot pounds. Google says the spec is 10 ft. lbs. Close enough. :)

Hmmm... I thought there might be some correlation but that was a quick thought. I guess I should think more often about these things, or google them.

Inch pounds to foot pounds is just like inches to feet, 12 inch pounds equals 1 foot pound.

Good news, I got the conversion for the brakes so that I can redo them with the 68 Mustang self adjusting brakes. I like that things are back on track and moving in a forward direction. Unfortunately, printing club shirts took too long today and I didn't get a chance to take the car over to the base and work on it. Soon I will have these new brakes and stop like never before.
