my 7 days of christmas...and associated adventures

  1. well here is my recount of how ****ty the past few days have been.

i posted the mg td which i drooled over and wanted dearly. but i aint got no money. my father decides to loan me the cash to get the car..cool! we call it "ours" and when i am done, he gets...as he lives in san diego, i cant see anything wrong with that. (and now i have a car to drive when "home")

i call the guy let him know i want to pick it up on Tuesday of this week. all is cool.

friday i am on a job in berkeley, don't get finished till about 1630 (i started at 0430), decide to go meet a friend for dinner. put money in the meter, meters go off the clock at 1800 hours, i have enough to get me to 1750 hours...no problem? wrong, $55 ticket. thanks

sunday, i have to go to workl to get stuff prepped for my crew for monday morning. the CHP and i have our annual christmas party, 75 in a 65...4 years running i have got a ticket during christmas.

Tuesday i am absolutely swamped work from 0630 to 1900 get out work, grab the truck and trailer and get on the road for dublin (1 hour drive) call a friend to help load the car, get there need tie downs, some one took them out of the truck...***ociates girl friend spouts how she knows where we can get them (at 2000, in dublin) 30 minutes wasted as she gets lost...(no comment) get the car loaded and head to In-n-out for a midnight snack.

get back to davis at 0030 wednesday morning, the brakes are now frozen on the td and it wont come off the trailer, wtf!!! crotchety *******, oh yeah starts to pour. get said car off of trailer at 0130. return truck and trailer, get back home and a sleep at 0230. back up at 0630 and off to work. no time to get a cover so it sits in the rain all day.

work again ****s, dont get off until 1800, leave the office run over to wal mart, by a cheapo car cover, drive home and...WHERE THE **** IS MY CAR!!! some one jacked it! that someone turned out to be the Davis PD. I had forgotten the tags said January on it (2005) and then the last ownerforgot to mention that it was non opped.

i raise hell with the cops, find out the tow company name and call them. now this is cl***ic: i call the tow company and tell them i am calling to see if they have a certain car. they tell me that i will have to get in line behind everyone else because there is already a list of people who want it!!! including the owner of the company, and that they are getting ready to take bids on the car. the guy on the phone says he is bummed he can get it, cause he got to work that evening and is way to far down on the list...i explain very politely that i own the car.

In summary, i had to pay the davis pd $45.00 bucks to spring the car from them (after the previous owner faxed a signed letter, cause i wasn't offically on the ***le yet...) $175.00 an hour for the tow company who hauled the car off, $65.00 per day for storage (they mentioned something about 2 days storage...didn't get far). and to top it off, the davis pd wouldn't release the car to me, it had to go to a registered tow company to haul it back to my house! another $175.00.

in summary they towed the poor ******* in less than 12 hours after i got it, (according to the paper work it was cited at 0950 and towed by 1240) note: had the car just not been registed they would have ticketed it, but as it was non-opped it is instant tow. no legal recourse.

i owe a huge appology to Trey on the HAMB, who has been very patient with my monetary "issues" (company didn't pay me for a week, a couple of times, due to lack of funds...welcome to management) and now the davis pd and ***ociates went and took all the spare money i had to pay him. thank you Trey for your patience, i am sure you are probably pretty irked.

so since i am now broke and pissed off and have a speeding ticket, parking ticket, and an mg...but i my boss gave me a nice bottle of wine, which i am going to drink and go mock up my old judson supercharger on the td.

i will now wish all you all a merry christmas.

After all that I sure hope Santa brings you something good for your stocking. And a lump of coal for the Davis PD.
