54 chevy chop roll call day 3 - pics!

    well now boys and girls ,
    we just had to do it didnt we.we sure as hell did.what did we do now.ill tell ya what we did.pay atension.

    we ground all the paint off
    laid out our cuts
    we cut 5 in the front 4 in the back
    took the top off set it aside
    trimed the a pillers
    trimed the c pillers
    set the top back on (looks killer)
    trimed the 46 chevy back window (set it on) for a looky see

    called it a day

    YES WE HAVE THE PICS.TRYING TO DESIDE WEATHER TO SPLIT THE TOP OR NOT WE CUZ WE CUT IT PRETY RADICAL.ESP IN THE BACK SO NOTHIN LINES UP.

    My buddy split the tpo on his '58 chevy and now he's can't get the gl*** to work. As much as he dosen't want to, he'll probably need to use a lexan windshield and work in a different rear window. My advice, cut the gl*** then make the top fit it.

    We took 6" out of the back of a 53 and didn't split the roof at all. It's plenty possible...

    Thanks for the photos, I don't quite understand were your misalignment is, the winsshield posts look ok in the photos.

    i'd pretty much leave it like that..re-install the door posts and paint it,then try to cut down the windshield and put in a lexan back window..only other thing i'd do is maybe take another inch or 2 outta the front..other than that,it's awesome!

    Am i seeing it right? is it a 2 dr ht? I have one and thought the c pillar was too narrow to cut! But I am a newbie to the chop scene. great post but more pics please!:D

    splitin the roof always was a last option.
    we'll make it work with out doing it.

    I will anwser a few Q's.


    The car is going to be a hardtop. Was not when started.

    Here is a pic of the car before the chop

    The door posts will not be re-installed it is going to be a hardtop.

    More pics will be posted as the project progresses.
