i have 2 inch blocks and i bottom out and s****e all the time... then again i also pulled out three leaf springs... next step, c notch.
Just bought 4" blocks and the aerostar springs = ) lol I'll be putting up pics when shes done. Kinda scared and excited at the same time.
Yeah I know but I don't think id be happy with the 3". All the photos I checked out where I loved the stance used 4". = )
Yeah well I drive mine daily in WA state and four is to low, to day went to a buddys place and four would have ripped the floors out!!
Mines a daily driver also. Here's one of the main reasons I went with 4". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524493&highlight=1954+ford+customline That car is so bad ***. Why what makes Wa state so bad for driving it that low?
Yeah thats sweet! Potholes like a mofo!! Check out the pic I just posted, in the gr***, but still looks good, bigs in back and littles up front, I think I am going to keep it that way.........Roach.
Oh Ca isn't too bad the only thing I'm worried about it the trans tunnel. Yeah I was just check that pic out, You have a nice ride! Do you know what size the stock rims and tires are supposed to be on a 54? I feel my tires are kind of small
Hmm, I'll have to check to see what I have. I noticed today after getting my overdrive to work that my mph was off by 15.
Yeah, if I go to the 85 series I should be right on the monny, but I allready have to jack the rear way up to get the tire out, and have to work it back and forth to get it out from under the wheel well, got to make shure the car dosnt rock while on the jack!
Sounds like fun! I guess I'll just have the tire shop rotate them For me haha. My last car (falcon) they had to let all the air out of the rear tires to get the tires out.
You will learn that bias-ply tires are boss for a bunch of reasons for these cars, besides looks, they're narrow! But seriously, it isn't hard to change wheels on these cars when severely lowered, it isn't easy, but it isn't rocket science. Just unbolt the shocks, and put a bottle jack between the frame and the rear axle, to jack the axle down. I've done it enough to know I can't do it on the side of the road, but I can do it in a driveway Post some pics of the car man! Excited to see it slammed, glad I could help a little bit Edit: They came with 6.70-15s, I'm sporting f-78-14s, and they're probably a taste short for the wheel wells, but I'm using what wheels I had. I'll switch to 6.70's maybe if I go to 15s, but 14s are right for my build.
