I was hopeing that it came up in LostHope's build request thread .... but if anyone has a link to a chopped '52-'54 build thread will be greatly appreciated... thanks!
I'm not really sure if there is a build thread on chopping them since its rare that you see one with a chop. You know its got the wrap around window and you have to get rid of that with a smaller piece of gl*** to make it look okay. Check out Red Baron's car and maybe he can tell you all about his build. I know that he used a 1950 Ford rear windshield and filled in the area that was left open from the stock gl***.
yeah, i've only seen a couple that looked good chopped. i would strongly advise against it. just my opinion though. good luck either way.
Unless you do a subtle chop, and do a bunch of other work to make it proportional, it won't look right IMO. Chicosauve01 is planning on chopping his Vicky, and I'm excited to see what he does. He is a very competent fabricator, and as far as I'm concerned has a good eye for custom stuff. Even Marc Morton's Mercury, as awesome as it is, looks a little "squished" because of how much its chopped.
yeah Mark Morton's merc is one of the nicer ones but still feels disproportionate to me. if i'm not mistaken, it was chopped 3
theres a few threads on here with chopped customlines... i found a bunch of pix doing the searches.. they have to be done RIGHT in order to looks good... i've seen some funky ones out there...
