Well this question is for those with a c-notch and bags n the rear..my 55 fairlane got bagged prior to my ownership but was very porly done. Now i am going back to fix all the small details. One of these details is that they bagged the car but never relocated the shocks, i was looking at relocation brackets online and notice they are all for different mounting shocks than what comes stock on our cars, I was wondering shocks from what cars are you guys running. thanks for your help!
Check this out. You'll need to determine your extended/compressed measurements, and type of mount for top/bottom. NAPA has an equivalent for each of these too, just give them the part #. Can't recall the part # that I'm using on my bagged 53 but can look later if you'd like. http://www.monroe.com/***ets/downloads/english/08_MountingLengthSheet.pdf
Found a note on my phone w/ the part #. I'm using a 5779, but I have custom made upper and lower mounts. Had to go w/ the loop style ends instead of studs due to the extreme range needed. No way that the studs would have held up. Also remember that your range of travel needed vertically will equate to less based upon the shock angle. For example 6 inches of vertical movement may only require a shock w/ 4 inches of travel.
Thanks a million bro... Yeah that's what I'm looking for lop mount, I just had forgotten what they were called.
