Is there any way that a regular Joe can get a book of bearings? Like for Timken, or something like that? that way, if someone needs to look it up, they dont have to go to napa or something like that, know what i mean? Im trying to find something 1 1/4 od and 5/8 id, but i dont know how to search, or where to search!

You should be able to find some common sizes on www.mcmaster.com

and some of the big bearing companies have all the info on their sites.

  3. I went to our local bearinghouse and got an old copy of their CR bearing catalog. 2 inches thick with thousands of diff bearings.

Trey, I can possibly help. The best tool I have found for finding bearings is a work developed by Interchange Inc. of st.Louis park,Mn.The bearing books can search by bearing markings or dimensions and type.I have a fairly recent copy dealing with most types rolling element bearings and seals.Let me know.
