Today a good friend of mine came by and told me he is going to sell his VW bus. He is a big time VW freak and always has one or two going at a time. The bus is a 67, with a Safari windshield, slide back and forth side windows, a new motor, all new brakes, fair body and interior, red powder coated wheels with VW caps and new tires. I have seen these things fixed up really cool, but there is just this stigma built into me that whisperd in my ear, yeah it's nice but it's a Volkswagon.... But for 2000.00 (my price) I could almost see myself driveing this thing.
Go to thesamba.com, and do a image search through their galleries for slammed or bagged buses. There's not too many other cars that look that bad *** sitting on the ground. Also look at the prices they're going for, 2,000 is a steal.

First you gotta learn to spell Volkswagen, with an E, not O, German thing, I guess. 2Gs is a damn good deal for a running bus, safaris or not. Jump on it. Oh, and the chicks dig 'em!!!
i was into bugs for awhile when i was a kid. never had a bus though. but for 2g's i would buy it and bomb around in it for awhile. wonder if it would make it from texas to washington? i guess you did say that was the "friend" price though. never can have too many friends.
Sounds like a heckuva parts chaser to me. You could probably get a dis***embled roadster into the darned thing....
BUY IT! They are the funnest vehicle you'll ever have that is that slow. I've had 20 something vdubs and wish I still had my 67. You can buy anypart you could ever need, and cheaply. If you have the dough, don't let it go..
Listen to me real close "BUY WHAT YOU LIKE AND IF NO_ONE ELSE LIKES IT SCREW THEM" Don't worry about other peoples opinions,be true to yourself. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I drag race a Vega , but I like it ,so what.
since someone else brought up the VW bus subject..... FYI: I just read in the local paper the other day (I am in Sao Paulo,Brazil for a while.) You can still buy a BRAND NEW 2006 VW bus (kombi) here!... electronic fuel injected flex fuel vehicle..makes a whoppin 78hp on gas and 80hp on alcohol... I guess there will never be an end to the air-cooled VW motors and parts supply.
