I've been a long time fan of the 55-56 Ford. I remember standing up in the back seat of dad's 56 2-door sedan, the needle pointing to the 120 mph mark and I was telling him to "go faster daddy!" He gave me the 56 when I was 14. I finally had it driving when I was 17. I bought a 55 when I was 16. It really was against my will. I had a nice Torino Cobra all picked out but my parents wouldn't let me buy it. One day mom's school teacher friend's car came up for sale. My parents loaded me in the car and we went to town. I bought Edna's pink and white 55 Ford 4-door for $100.00. It had 59,000 miles on it. I drove it 2000 miles and parked it in the shed. It's still sitting in the shed over at mom's. I also have a 55 Sedan Delivery that my wife calls a life sized model car. It hasn't got much farther than the planning stage. I have almost all the parts collected to put it together. I keep buying more parts cars as I run across them. I just brought home another 56 2-door sedan the other day. I had to bid more than I wanted to to outbid the crusher dudes on this last one. buy the time it sold the crowd consisted of me and about 4 iron guys. It does have some usable parts left on it. I haven't checked to see if the Y-block is stuck. Me and the 55 sedan delivery. The 55 Sedan Delivery on my truck. the Y-block that came with it is in front of the car. I bought this 52 at an auction. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I'm thinking it wants to be a vintage stock car. ??? This 56 Town Sedan followed me home one day. The town sedan's Y-block. The last one I brought home the other day.
Welcome from So Cal. Nice collection of cars. I looked through your albums, gotta ask. What's with the weird tires on the back of the sedan delivery & the white stuff on the ground?
You mean the snow and the snow tires? I'll bet you miss out on most of the snow fun in So Cal. We get enough of it around here anymore to make up for it. It can be a lot of fun with a hill and an old car hood, just watch out for the barbed wire fences. Of course that 1/4 mile of driveway is not so much fun in the winter.
i like the idea of you saving theses cars, you just made my day...im digging the 52 alot looks to be pretty straight car, welcome aboard , and kiss the wife for letting you haul all those cars home.
Yeah, I've been in So Cal 60 years (61 in Oct) and I've never had to shovel snow. It's snowed maybe ½ inch total in my life.
