Hey guys, I just snagged an Offy 3x2 intake off of eBay for my 55 wagon. My questions is will the 2 barrel that is on the wagon now (stock 272) work as one of the 3 carbs that I'll need to make this this setup work?

    Thanks!

If you use the old 272 carb as the center carb it will run the same way it does now so long as the setup has progressive linkage and it doesnt leak on the ends.

I don't have additional carbs, just needing to know do I need to buy 3 or 2 to make the setup work.

    Thanks!

Just buy two and you should be good.

The end carbs can be different from the center, but the ends should match. I had a 327 truck carb on the center of an olds, and 283 carbs on each end. It ran as good as the stock J2 setup.

As long as the 2 outer carbs are the same size you will be fine . Rebuild both outer carbs with the exact same parts , seal off all the fuel adjustments on the cars and the vacuum holes , remove the chokes all together . Now get a 3 x 2 carb linkage set up and hook them up . The outer 2 carbs should be set to open at about 65% of full throttle . The center carb is the ONLY carb that should have any adjustments at all . The outer 2 carbs are just fuel dumps !
That's all there is to is .
