Rolled the 31 outside for some pics - color photoshop request??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tudor, Dec 26, 2005.

  1. Here it is, first time outside, what do you guys think?? Can someone photoshop some color in on this puppy? I am thinking black frame and a suede body - I like the green in the middle with dark green on top-

I was also thinking a dark blue suede.

or should the frame be body color no matter what? I like what Rolf has done for sure.

Its got two different headlights on there right now, need to get those sorted out.

  2. i'd go with pink on the bottom, and light pink on top....

o'yah....merry x-mas to you and the wife

  3. Hey I was going to go pink, but I knew you wanted it for your pickup - I couldn't take that from you. Merry Christmas to you guys too - feeling better yet?

Tudor, your sedan is looking reeeaaalll good.
Rolling it outside for the first time is a good feeling, it gives you hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it's not a train! Keep the progess updates coming.
Oh yea, keep the green, it looks great. LSM

Looks good!! I like the stance. Now a bad-ass car with maybe bronze and a non-girly pink might be different and interesting. If I recall, one of the cars in "HotRod" or one of those Henry Gregor Felson boys' books of the 50's used this scheme.

Speaking of schemes, that's a pretty fancy house in the background that I bet cost a few pennies. How those folks like a half done rod sitting in the drive across the street?

1st time seeing your sedan. What an inspiration! Close to what I envision for my future project. I'd say stick with two-tone green with black frame. Dude, it's near perfect just like it is. Looks great.

  13. Tudor,
Good job there...dig the stance...you've nailed it. You're keeping it fenderless right ?
Green and black looks evil enough for this one ! Keep us posted.........

Looks great, I like the green. Personally, I think the frame should be the same as the body, kinda makes it like it belongs...but hey, this is America !

    Keep us posted...

  19. 2 tone green - yes
    3 tone green - no

This is a horrible shot of Greg Porter's A sedan. I love the greens used on the body/frame. Can't help wonder how much better it could have been had gloss black been used instead of the lime green on the suspension & steering bits though.

As an aside - your A is far too close to hitting the road and far too good looking to undo it or "part it out" for that Deuce project. This one is a killer in the making. Finish it - then worry about un-channeling the Deuce and build/buy a chassis for it later on.

Count me in for the Southeast HAMB meet.

  20. Yes - no fenders, Thanks Harrison - I think you are right, throwing the other body on there would make for huge delays. I will probably just do a mock up when I take off the sedan body for painting. Then I can see what I'd change about the next frame for the new body. I hope it just doesn't look too good that I can't take it off.

Cumberland run is coming up right???

Johnny Paycheck is a must do down here near Athens, GA as well.

...a bit more now than when its leaving two black marks in a rooster tail of sideways smoke as it passes their gate in the future:D

Keep the green, change the firewall green to the body green but dont gloss it up-ie flat/matt dark green on the firewall. (don't cut the top like in the photochop above-too much!)

  22. yeah - I can't wait till I start firing up the engine at 11 at night!! better locate them baffles!!

Homo, paint the frame what ever color you decide you are going to paint the car. so you do not have to redo it again, then chose a primer that is close to the frame color so it will some what match.

the car looks good, but throw that rad cap away fast....

Boone's Maybe It's hard to see how cool that radiator cap is when you're looking around you boyfriends love handles. Get off you knees and take a good look it rocks. :) I would let PBR keep his pink fetish and stay green. Maybe hunter green for the frame. and lower body and a lighter green on top. White interior touches and drive da piss out of it.

  25. Boones, I agree, that cap is rad ! I did forget to make a post and ask everyone if its ok to run that, but it was a swap meet find to fill the hole in top of the radiator. My wife doesn't like it either, so it has to stay!

I agree the frame ought to match the body color, BUT I am looking at a calender here with a brown 32 sedan - it has a black frame and a brown body no fenders, looks pretty cool.

I just keep imagining the frame dark green by itself and can't dig it. Or it seems like then the body has to be green, If I went black you could paint it what ever - when ever.

The green body looks right. I think all '32 frames were black when new, or maybe that was fenders. Somebody will know. Anyway, there's some karma involved here. Go with green and black. You can always change it and put the dubs on if it doesn't look good.

Did you move? Your surroundings look a tad different than last year.

  29. yes turbo lover - I moved to the country where you could git some house for yer doller. The gangs ran us out of the old hood.

Dave - let me know when you can stop by to drink all my beer. That body weighs a pretty good bit, we'll need Danny and Big Dave at least!
