#1 Fixing the engine in my 35 Coupe...won't idle and can't find a cause....sooo take the whole thing apart and start over.

#2 Helping a friend with finishing bodywork and paint on his 54 Chev sled (helps get funds for #1) :) This is a pleasure as it is a cool car! Will be two tone satin jade green metallic with white top.

Sometimes it's the simplest things, the most easily overlooked; that cause the most headaches. Spray a bunch of carb cleaner around the manifold, look for a leak, burned out plugs, bad wires, and over-floated carb, etc...I'd advise against pulling that motor apart before exhausting all other efforts first...but what do I know...I'm not a motor guy...good luck! :)

I tried all of the above plus remounting the intake, trying a new carb out of the box etc. etc. I've been told it could even be the distributor.....So, it will go back in with new (less radical) cam, lifters, timing chain, distributor, and higher stall torque converter. Then if it doesn't run right I can always throw the whole thing in the James river:D   !
