I bet no one has seen these before:D ..........the outer cast frames open like a window and are from an old roof light in an old tram from the early days in sydney australia.......and they have a small stainless screw to hold em closed....and Ive dropped in some NOS 60s? landrover cokebottle gl*** lenses that are finned.........all I need to do is turn up some rings with the same curve and step out as the frames, to fit the space between...............sort of that bug/snail eyed look......if ya can see it....something different, but still old school looking...Bert.....

I found a local guy{australia} on ebay who sold 3 sets seperately and I made sure I won each auction;) ...I paid around $30 pair, they were in the original boxes. I was going to get blue dots mounted in one set and have a set spare......I asked if he had more but I dont think he did, not sure if he was holdin out on me:rolleyes: ...they are lucas, which are from england and are from a 63 landrover, dont know if they would be available repro. These are orig though...........they come with a screw in base and the edge of the lense is threaded, just screw them in or out, to remove........If I see a set, I will yell out.......hope this helps.......cheers, Bert

Yes! Those are great-looking taillights and I've only seen them used once on a hot rod (Model A Tudor).

I agree some. I plan on using them on the Gunn. I would not want them on the your 52 by any means. They stand out well on some coupes and sedans though. Hell maybe I will add one as a good mood light dome light in the sedan.:D

in a rod and custom issue, a car had these 'studebaker-styled' taillights. anyone know what years these came out and what the actual units looked like?

Here's a real '41 Stude taillight, used by Valley Custom on the Ralph Jilek '40 Ford and a dozen other customs. Virtually impossible to find now.

The ones in your picture may be the repops made by **** Falk in the SF Bay area; he sells them as rough bronze castings, or filed to shape, or finished and plated at various (high) prices.

Cool! I was unaware of those. At $95/pr (bezels only) they're a lot cheaper than Falk's.
