My 52 has a set of Aerostar spring under it (was that way when I bought it). The only issue I have is the steering seems to be a bit on the sloppy side. All I have to do is get under the hood and adjust the steering. Not sure if this is from the springs, or if it's just because the steering box is almost 60 years old. As far as driving goes, whenver I hit bumps or pot holes, the steering doesn't feel like it jerks around at all and tracks nice and straight when goin down the road. I do wish they were a bit stiffer though because when I go over bumps and stuff, the front end seems to do the "Uncle Buck" bounce a few times.

If you put Aerostar springs in search on the main board you will find ton's of positive comment, the springs will work in 1949-59 Fords.

I haven't installed them yet on my 55 Fairlane but I have heard nothing but Praise from installing the springs . Even the 49/50/51 Shoebox people say they are great on their cars as well !
I have yet to hear anything negative about the springs !

  7. You should have no issues with bump steer as you are not changing the steering/suspension geometry at all . Yes the car sits lower with the different spring , but you have not altered the relationship between balljoints, tie rods or steering components . Aside from ride hieght it all remains within factory specs .

I have had them in my '53 for 2 driving seasons (in WI we don't get to drive 'em year round) and have had absolutely no problems. I can't recommend them enough.
