I've got a chance to buy a set of 4 manual window regulators for my 54 Ford which currently has power windows that don't move for $260 for 2 fronts & 2 rears + shipping. That seems pretty steep to me but maybe i'm wrong?
He said I would need to use my lift channels as well, would they be the same for manual vs powered?

and last, if i had these manual w. regs. this would be all i would need to 100% convert my 2 door hardtop over to manual windows other than the window cranks correct?

    Thanks!!

Don't forget that the door panels will be different also. You would be much better to just repair the power windows.

You are going to end up spending a lot more $$$$$ in the long run . I am not sure what they would sell for but that seems like an awful lot of money for (4) regulators ! You can get good electric window kits for less than that so why go that route ? Just fix what you have now . You can more than likely hit the salvage yard and get stronger electric motors for cheap and fit them to your set up that you already have in place if that is the problem ! Plus like "kenymac" said , all your door panels will have an electric switch in the door or a big hole where the switch was ! Then you have yo buy window cranks and 4 of those used will be another $15+ each .
Have you told any of us on a post what is wrong with your electric window ? I would pull the door panels off and find out what is wrong first before spending a ton of money trying to make something else work ! I am sure one of us can figure out what is wrong with your electric windows besides Not Working ! Can you explain what the windows sure doing when they go up and down ?
Changing back to the crank windows isn't going to be that easy either . With the electric windows you have , about the only thing you keep from the original set up is the window channel . That is not the easy way out to fix the problems with your windows . Just repair what you have now , that's what I would do if the car was mine .
    Just my opinion !

I agree on the price, ouch! I believe my switches are right where the window cranks would be but not 100%
Anyway, I agree about repairing my power stuff but I'm not sure how since i've never seen rebuilt motors for sale of aftermarket motors that bolt onto factory mounts.
Yes i've taken the panels off, & all 4 relays will click with a Power probe but no movement of any of the windows. I've taken the rear window motors out and LR motor is locked up and not sure why considering they all look great & plenty of lube & no rust in the worm gear area etc. The engagement female fork that drives the regulator is busted on LR but looks good on RR.
I took both rear motor off & applied power to them so there would no resistance from other parts and once again no movement. I'm not sure what else i can do with the factory stuff i guess.?????

If that were my car, I would checkout NewRelic window lifts. They have a good reputation for lifts that last a while.

I agree with Ole Don. Nu-Relics are really nice, use a scissor system similar to stock. Down side is that it will cost you about a Grand for all four windows.
You say none of your windows work. Could it be something as simple as a fuse? or broken power wire?

I used Newrelics on my '62 F-100 and I'm very happy with them. Easy to install also. They bolted to the factory mounting holes. I put the switches under the dash in fabricated receptacles, drilled holes in the jambs and doors, ran the wires in rubber tubes. Very easy. You wouldn't have to drill any holes, just run the new wires. They are 12 volt for the F-100, You would have to find out if the replacements are 6 volt, unless you changed to 12v. www.nu-relics.com

Hmm, i'll check out the Nu-relics site.

I used a power probe (test light that provides power or ground) right to the motor wires so it by p***es all switches, fuses etc. Still nothing worked.

After I wrote that post I went to the Nu-relics web site and looked up the lifts for a '54 Ford. WOW! A kit for all 4 windows would be about $1000.00! I don't remember paying alot for two windows in the F-100, but I must have. I would like PW's for my Ford But I don't know if I want to pay that much for the convenience.

My offer remains open to trade a good complete set of four manual window regulators for your non-working electrics, provided your setup is complete. Please let me know. Thanks, Alan S. Freeman

I put the Nu-relics in the front of my car and yes they were more then the cheap universal type. You are paying more for a direct bolt in using GM motors. These are quality units unlike some of the cheap stuff out there. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and I think they are worth what they cost. I think they were around $470. The hardest part of the whole install was running the wires. My plan was to do it in two stages due to the cost.

    Mine are shown here.
