I am sure some of you have heard and many haven't heard about this one yet .
Well we are going to be getting a big snow storm tomorrow here in Pa. ! This will be the earliest snow since Oct. 1972 ! the best thing of this storm is that it will be the most snow in one day since they started recording the record back in the 1800's ! We are going to see the most amount of snow on this date tomorrow Saturday . We are looking to get around 4" to 6" of snow ! Where I live we are looking at about 5" to 6" of that damn white stuff . Farther north of us they are looking to be getting 9" to 10"+ of that white stuff ! They tell us that the heavy snow will hit us tomorrow afternoon and evening and it will be snowing so hard we are going to be getting Whiteout conditions !! It's damn Oct. not January !
That put a big damper on the salvage hunting for sure now . Hope it melts real soon too !

global warming, oh my!! better call al for advice. and have him bring a pizza and a 6 pack to go along with the shop supplies/project you will be providing.

next saturday the local pick n pull is offering 50% off all items, but there is also a fairly large fall color tour/cruise going on as well. i think we have the same kind of dilemma retro jim.

world series finale signaled the end of summer for me (yeah cards). the neighbor is getting his beans in, and we have been raking/mowing fallen leaves for a week now. frost has been on the windsheild the past few mornings. thankfully the only thing falling here are temps and leaves.

WOW, Jim Wish I could send you some of this 85 degree weather. I get cold when it gets in the 60's. Show is fun for the weekend up at Lake Tahoe. I could only imagine living in show country. ( NOT ) I'll send you some warm vibes.

Well we missed the Big One in Michigan this time.... but it's only a matter of time before we get hit, I'm sure. I don't envy you Jim, or anyone else in the northeast who got snow this early. Was up in northern Michigan Friday & Saturday, it snowed enough to stick but gone quickly. BUT it was 28 degrees Saturday morning. 'Tis the season....

Well the very early Oct. snow storm is over and the official count is .....9.5 " of snow ! This is the most amount of snow ever in Oct . The earliest snow fall was on Oct. 19 , 1925 ! That was 1.1" so this storm will be on the record books for a very , very long time !
We have a lot of trees down and lots of broken branches due to all the leaves still on the trees . Many people are still without power ! There are a lot of cars in the bigger towns and cities that were damaged due to the big trees and large branches that broke and damaged many cars ! It will be a very costly storm to say the least . I really hope this isn't the beginning of a very long winter !
If anyone wants to see some pictures just Google " WGAL " which is our local TV station . They have tons of pictures about the storm . They are also on Face Book as well !
Now I have to clean off 2 corner lots and driveways !

jim... your looking at it all wrong. now you have 2 corner lots and driveways to clear for parts money. that is if your plowing snow for hire anyway.

One property is my house and the other is my mother in laws place . No money there for parts !
The sun is out and doing a pretty good job of melting the snow so I will let mother nature do her job before I have to !

Don't feel too bad, Jim. Sparta, NJ got 16" !!!! I'm the next town over and had to dig out all my rides. Broke a lot of limbs around here and dropped a big one on my '55 f100 cab, amazingly no dents. Hit it juuuuust right!! Ed

I heard NJ got hammered pretty good . the only good thing is the ground was warm and the sun was out today so it's melted really fast today . Still plenty left . I will have to clean up the trees and branches up later this week . I had one break off the top of a big Maple and fell on my 49 Ford that is covered up . I haven't looked yet but think I made out OK .
I hope everyone else made out OK from the storm !

wait til the electric bill comes in for those heaters. they **** tons of juice. however, the alternative to no heat at all is even less desirable.

  23. the gas company is coming Nov. 15th to install the tap and meter..i think we can tough it out a little longer

I heard NJ got hit really bad ! Thing is with these early wet snow storms , they come in fast and dump very heavy snow and tear the trees up really bad . There was lots of damage in my area from the down tree limbs . What a mess from an early snow storm !
I think you got out very lucky with that big pine tree at your car !
