What did ya'll do to the underside of your Fords? I did a complete frame off restoration on a 68 Camaro and have so much money in it I'm scared to drive it anywhere.
I'm not wanting to and can't afford to do that to my 54. I have it up on jack stands and had the underside high pressure steam cleaned.
To those who didn't do a frame off restore what did you do to the underside and wheel wells?? Paint? POR15? leave bare? etc. etc. etc.
    thanks for suggestions.

well, im still in the process, but i wire wheeled whatever came off, por 15'd the rust and put truck bed coating on top of that that. Im not sure if its the best way to go yet but it sounds right.

I just did the floors in my 54 Merc both inside and underside. I removed all of the old undercoating, Then super cleaned all the metal, Then POR-15 all the floors and all the inside panels. I then used the two part Raptor spray on bedliner. Both inside and outside of all the floors and the lower part of the firewall. I am in the process now of doing the inner fenders. It has come out much better than expected. It should help with some road noise and help protect the under side from rock chips from what others have told me that have used the raptor bedliner. The POR-15 loves rust and really sticks to it, But if you have any smooth bare metal be sure to ruff it up first and use the por-15 metal conditioner just like the instructions say. When done with the POR-15 ruff up the POR-15 and then clean again then spray the undercoating. The Raptor can be put on thick or thin it all depends on how you want it to look when you are finished. They also have it that can be mixed with colors. I just went with the black. It works great and is easy to spray. But just a little on the spendy side but it is well worth it.

when i was working on my ford, What i did that worked best is just spray some sealer on the underbody (once its cleaned and in bare metal) and coat it with a few cans of 3M rubber insulator spray. Done!

    goodluck

I did the bedliner too, on a Stang. Prep is the key including extreme masking of the car and the shop. That stuff is tough.
