ok cause i have a chance to buy one and im looking for one tht i can put back in my 1952 ford customline sedan i was told a 8ba i need but if you say a eab is the same then ill go for that its a better motor i found
This may explain it:http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_specs-90to125late.htm Notice the last sentence" regarding the hardened valve seats, this means the 8BA has them and the EAB does not.Now that being the case we would ***ume the 8BA would be the choice for unleaded fuel? (which was not around in the early 50's) Usually a flathead cracked block will always start in the valve area so why is it the EAB was the "improved" version
The EAB was am 'improved" version because it had higher compression and the best heads and highest HP of the later flatheads. 8BA's were 49-51 engines. All parts were interchangable with the EAB's
