I'm looking for a starter and complete distributor to fit a 237cu flathead. I've tried searching the parts sites and only seem to find parts to rebuilt the starter and distributor, but not complete units. Is there an aftermarket cross reference to the original Dodge part i can buy off the shelf? The truck i bought came missing both. I want to see if this engine will run before i decide on replacing it. Its not seized and seems to rotate freely.

I'm sorry you are not getting any responses to this post but I think we are all at a loss as to how to help you. If it were a Chevrolet or Ford engine you would have heard from many of us I would look at some MOPAR sites for more information. I think that engine was used for quite a few years and was also a Chrysler industrial engine as well.
