Are there other mid fifty Lincoln,Ford or Mercury front suspension parts that interchange with the 55 Lincoln Capri. I am starting to believe the 55 Capri i have is somewhat a mutant,,,lol
I would love to answer this question but I haven't seen the front suspension for the Lincoln. If you have a pictures, I can tell you if it looks like what I've seen.
I will be working on the brakes tomorrow. I will snap pic's of the front suspension. Will it be ok if i send them to you to see if you recognize them for other interchange parts i might be able to use...thanks
I've seen a couple of your posts about the suspension and lowering. Your suspension, (upper and lower control arms) should be the same as mine, and there is no way in hell that it cost me a grand to do this myself. The most expensive parts are the ball joints themselves. If you have a good hydraulic press then the job is a snap. Without the press you will come into some problems. Also if the press does not adjust laterally then you will have problems too. Since the upper control arm is in a U shape you will need this lateral adjustment to press the new bushings into place. Also the lower control arm will cause problems to when pressing the new bushings in them. I used a pneumatic hammer/chisel to get the bushings out of the upper control arm. This chewed up the control arm around the holes a little when I let it move on me. This link will give you the self adjusting brake tutorial. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=20141 If you are new to the way these brakes work, it may be a pain. I can help you with that too.
