    thats freaking COOL!!!!

Do you have any advice on adding a straight axle to a 57 without cutting the front of the frame off?

this one was that way for yrs and i think it was drivin alot. but we cleaned it up buy getting rid of all the massive front crap and about 100 extra pounds. but anyway you can still put one under the orig frame and use the orig steering box to cross steer with . just position the set up under it and build to it from the orig frame .... measure many times before welding anything of course. thanks, dave is pumped to get it finished now...........

The best and easiest way to do a tri-five is keeping the stock rails and steering box.

#1 Call up tinny's hot rod shop in PA, They do zero drop straight axles in chromoly, super strong. (the mas axles Bend under a tri five! yikes.)

#2 get the car on a lift pull the original front end junk out.

#3. Keep the stock steering box.

#4. the springs, perches, hangers from speedway seem to be a good setup,
(the shakles are too short and need to be made longer depending on how high you wanna go, The Springs from speedway need to be rearched to go higher.

#5.steering can be done a few different ways, again the best bet is to usae a stock box. Keep the upper drag link and idler arm in place.

#6. you will ne a 3rd steering arm on top of one of the spindles either left or right and an extra link from the upper drag link over to the new 3rd steering arm that you will mount on top of the spindle.

    Any other questions, PM us!.

Wicked, but the wheels suck. It needs Raders or chrome reverses, the Centerlines and modulars just don't look right.

I second what Ford freak said.

Can't go wrong with that combo.....or even just Cragars up front and painted steelies in the rear.

Congrats, Catman. IMHO, this is how God intended shoeboxes to be built. And I'm with Nads - Cragars would be just right. And don't spare the hair on the cam in that 350...(It does have a 4-speed, right?)

I think you need to open up the rear wheelwells! Then drop the back a bit...

Good to know catman! Has the right width and looks.
You think you'll ever drill it?

Do you think you could send me some pics of the front suspension?
I just picked up a 54 pickup I-beam front axle and could use some pics for guidance on installing mine. Hope so, thanks! Full size is ok - got cable! :)

Just for your info guys the paint cat used is a deal from ebay called FLATZ........it is avail in about 15 different colors and covers super good and dries fast and is a perfect semi gloss sheen. You mix it 16 to one with a hardner 1 gal paint and 1 pint of activator and that is all and it all comes in a kit for about 80 +13 shipping and more than enough to do a car ..............
