i thought some of you should know that my hot rod pal Pete Fiorito was found dead earlier today at his place in las vegas . cause of death is an apparent heart attack. for those who arent quite sure who he was he was an older cat who really dug the 50's.greyish hair, mustache and allways seemed to wear jeans,t-shirts,and loafers.8 years ago he built a 29 A sedan that was black with traditional flames on the cowl. after that he built a 30/31 roadster that was painted the same exact color scheme as the sedan.that car is on the back of robert genat's "retro rods" book. there is a picture of pete on page 93 in the same book. he sold the roadster a few years back and recently owned an early 50's olds coupe with 49/50 merc tail lights mounted vertically. he was also in the planning stages of building another rod. pete was a major supporter of the shifters, and helped me in every way...not only viva las vegas. i'm in complete shock. a fellow friend of pete and i are in the stages of planning a service for him in las vegas. anyone needing info on this call me at (909)-437-2068 or email me at shifters32@pacbell.net
Sorry to hear about your friend.....I have lost a few friends these last few years. It is tough, and reminds us of our own mortality.
This has been a really bad year for this sort of thing, Axle. Really bad. I lost two brothers from my car club. People I loved a lot. Please accept my condolences. Message for the rest of us go see the people that you dig. Tell them how you feel. Really sorry to hear this, Axle. chili
My condolances are with you man. Like others have stated, this has happened a lot this year. I lost my uncle on Thanksgiving this year, and he was helping me with my current project. Teaching me is more like it. Don't forget your friends, and don't make too many enemies. Time is too short. My prayers go out to you and his family.
A sad deal indeed. Pete was a friend of mine for almost twenty years. This mortality deal is starting to get really personal.
I just heard about Pete this morning! I am still shocked! He was just out to visit a few weeks ago telling about the A coupe he had just aquired to build. Pete was a good one. I don't think he missed but one of my shop BBQ's in 5 years and was always ready to jump in and help flip burgers or whatever. Pete will be missed.

Sorry to hear this crap news. I've been over to VLV twice including this year, it's a hell of a car show and must take a whole team of decent folk to organise. A bit early for this kind of suggestion maybe, but how about a memorial trophy at the VLV car show next year, in his honour.
No way Alex!!!! This sucks, he really was a cool cat. You can see the tip of my car next to his Model A on the back cover of that Retro Rods book. He was a great guy, I had many conversations with that fella. May he rest in peace.
Sorry to hear Alex May the lord be with him, his family and close friends. God bless and in my prayers, CAB
sorry to hear about this. we're losing more of the old guys all the time. it's very sad to see this kind of thing. lot's of good stories and memories are going away every day. we, as a buch of people into the same thing, need to document as much of this stuff as we can so it doesn't get forgotten.
Pete was one of the first people I met when I moved to Vegas. He was awsome, really into the hotrod scene. I went to the show that he put on every saturday at Jonny Rockets. I remember the look on his face when I told him that I was moving back to Maryland. He was always willing to help the young hotrodders out and we really respected him for that. He was an all around awsome guy. lots of good stories. He will be missed. Thanks, Mike
I knew Pete for a number of years, since we used to judge the old Las Vegas "World of Wheels" shows together. Pete would do anything for anyone with no questions. One of the most likable guys in the world. Damn, I'm gonna miss him. Mick
Damn! Pete was a real cool guy, I always rapped with him at Vegas, super no-attitude guy, always enthused about everything. I'll miss him. Keith
thanks for the emails guys. anyone wanting to be notifield when the memorial service happens please calll or email me. shifters32@pacbell.net (909)-437-2068
Shit. When I saw the title of this post, I thought of Pete. Damn. I always talked with him at Vegas and I ran into him at other places too (CHRR, Roadster Show, etc.). He was always stoked about what was going on and he always seemed to be having a good time. He was a cool guy. Rats!
