I got my block torn down!!!! After I get my parts back from the machinist I was wondering if I need to paint the block and other parts right away?

Also.. I was thinking of using spray paint on the block and other parts? Will that be fine or wll it flake off right away? Let me know your opinions please. A friend of mine said I would be stupid to spray can it.

    Thanks in advance.

There is a high heat spray paint that you can use on the engine block that will be fine and keep a nice color and shine. You can buy the paint at Lowe's.

Thanks. That's kind of what I thought. I'm thinking black block with chrome heads.

Dupli-Color has a ceramic engine enamel in spray that is supposed to be glossier and more durable.

I have had very good luck with the new Duplicolor ceramic rattle cans. Clean the part with acetone and blow it dry, put on a very light coat of epoxy primer, then about three or more light coats of color.
