    Well..

I do this a lot, but today I got some good pictures! :D

Long story but they recently opened a Steak N Shake in Manhattan, right next to the Ed Sullivan theatre on Broadway (Between 53rd and 54th).

I have had a serious craving for some Steak N Shake so I finally went. And it's just as good as the ones outside of the area... prior to the the closest one to the city was in Pittsburgh!

    So I snapped some pics...

Traffic on the Palisades Parkway to the George Washington Bridge was nightmarish.. this is what I get for going on a late Sunday afternoon..

Times Square as seen from the dash of a 54 Ford..

Trying to get back to Jersey... took the wrong approach to the Lincoln Tunnel...

Wow, great pictures! I can't imagine much older than 25 years or so is real common on the streets of Manhattan.

Thanks guys! I'd say my 54 is in the city... ohh, once a week or so, it's one of the only 54 Fords with an EZ-P***!

I probably drive the car 4-5 days a week and have been averaging about 300 miles a week on it.

You don't see too many older cars in Manhattan, although I was following a 70 or so Pontiac Grand Ville coupe out of the Lincoln tunnel, with stupid 20+" chrome wheels tho.

The Ford has been know to damn near stop traffic in the city... some people go nuts for it, especially tourists.

Ah well I listed it for sale to keep the then girlfriend quiet. She's now my ex :). I also listed it for what I thought was way too much $$.

There are days when I think maybe I ought to sell it and get something different but the damn thing has been just too good to me to let go.

    Dwayne,

I probably do it.. oh, I dunno, once or twice a week. Most of my driving in the car is in the close suburbs of NY City anyways, the car is on Route 4 several times a day :D

LostHope, yeah but you have In-N-Out Burger!

I had a girlfriend like that once, too. She said, it's the car or it's me. I miss her...

(No, Ron, not Miss Daisy. She'd NEVER miss the opportunity for a ride in an old car...;))

Excellent pics, man! I'll bet she gets a lot of looks in NYC. Very happy to see you are enjoying the '54 so much.

Yes, nice pics indeed. You're a brave man to take your car downtown like that. I was out there a few years ago for work; even tho' I'm kinda used to Deetroit traffic, I was still nervous just driving the rental car around NYC! But what you're used to eh? I bet you get a lot of looks when in your '54!

The car gets amazing amounts of looks in the city. I've parked it on the street, run into a store real quick and come out to a crowd around it.

Today was rather eventful.... First, the car ran out of gas. It seems that the gas gauge is no longer accurate. Damn.

And then today I had a hell of a scare... A real "oh ****" moment. I head a knock from the front end... Upper control arm bolt was loose and the alignment shims had fallen on top of the upper control arm. I tightened it at work (big thanks to John the tech for having sockets) but it scared the **** out of me.

    It's getting aligned on Thursday.......
